need some help

my suspension light stays on. i found the problem. the 4 lines that go into the dryer don't seem to want to stay in. they pull out just alittle, enough to let the air blow by. do i need replace the lines? or what do i need to do. i don't want to burn up the compressor :L

Before you spend a dime, with the engine running, spray soapy water on any and all air line connections to verify a leak or a good seal.

Replace leaky parts. They're at least 12 years old :)
 
You should rebuild your dryer if you are sure that what you described is truly the issue. Get the dryer out of the car and pull it apart. Bake the desecant for at least an hour at 350º. Then put it back together. Remove the orange collets and remove the old o-rings. Go out and get 8 #6 o-rings and use two o-rings for each collet. Put the dryer back together and reinstall into the car. This should remedy your issue, provided it is the only issue with the suspension.
 
It may be the orange plastic clips. Do they look good? The clips keep the lines held in by holding up the metan clips on the dryer.
 
You could rebuild your air dryer, a new one from Arnott Industries is only 35 dollars. I ordered one for my car. :cool:

4 spring conversion
4 solenoids
 
i spit on the lines and they bubbled up. the lines dang near pull right out of the dryer. the guy i bought it from put new dryer, compressor, and all that on it. you can see that by looking at it. i bought the kits from ford today(f1ly-5b321-a) one kit per line. i got them for $7.18 each, i know people :dancefool
but, i think it is the clips that hold the lines into place. if i have any other problems, i will let you know.

If it is the orange pieces (collets) then it is most likely that the o-rings need to be replaced. See my previous post about that.
 
put the new o-rings and retainers on and when the dryer built up pressure, it popped the lines out of it. ruined one kit, so i have to get another tomorrow. i thought i was gonna have to put a new dryer on it. don't think i do though.
 
i put spit on my finger and wiped it on the base of the line at the dryer. it bubbled up, so it worked.

What all is included in these kits? O-rings can be had at any local hardware store for a few bucks. I think I got a 10 pack of #6 O-rings for $2 at Lowes.

well, i was having problems with the alternator also, finally got that fixed today, i hope. my dad is gonna bring me a new dryer tomorrow, and i hope that works. i really want to drive my car. i have had it for two weeks, and drove it for one :Bang

i did change the regulator also. i will never go to autozone for anything, they have junk(IMO). the alt. hasn't given me any problems yet. :L
