I have an 1989 Lincoln Mark7 Bill Blass and both my brake lights are on. When i push the brakes it's hard to stop. What could be the problem? Oh... and my amp light is on.
The amp light came on when i changed the battery. It's a smaller battery so could that be the problem? I also have an amp hooked up. How would I go about doing a voltage test? But with the brakes, I think i have to either replace the hydro-booster or the master cylinder. It used to leak brake fluid from behind the banjo fitting but since it doesnt work it doesnt leak. What should I do?
If your amp light is on, you either need a voltage regulator, alternator or battery. Bring the car to AutoZone where they will check all 3 for no charge. That might also be the reason your brake and ABS lights are on. If the brake and ABS lights stay on after you fix the amp light issue, read this: http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00021.html
