I have 2004 Lincoln LSE with the THX sound system. I need to replace my in dash 6 disk changer and I was thinking of going with an app radio.

Does anyone know if this would be a good fit:

I think I may have read that the gps is a pain to replace in these in cars. Does anyone know the details?

I have no problem taking this to a professional to get it installed, but Im not sure they would know the little nuances of this car.
any thoughts would be appreciated.

GPS is not a problem to install in the LS. The complication that you have is the factory amps in the trunk for all the speakers. There weren't enough LSes with THX made for there to be a direct aftermarket wiring harness adapter. You or your installer will have to trace out the wiring and make your own. It is certainly doable and has been done.

The factory amp needs to be bypassed (wiring in trunk area). The factory subs are problematic if you want to reuse them. I did it in my car with info that I found searching this site. I cant remember what thread that I used. Basically you just have to cut a couple of connectors and splice the wires yourself. It might sound hard, but really it is not.
