Well, somehow I knocked the chrome piece off of my vent for the ac/heater air flow direction on my LS. I have no idea were it is and was wondering if anyone on here had one they want to sell. Ford said I would have to buy the whole vent. Its not that important but I thought I would check here.
Thanks,
TheRebel

DO A SEARCH ON IT AT THE TOP. i dont know off hand but i know the part number was posted. contact torrie, or grey ghost theyll know

you can buy just the chrome piece. i stock 2 of them at a time usually. $3.59 plus postage.

That's crap. Go to your dealer with the part number 4W4Z-19E984-AAA. They'll more than likely have to order it but the chrome vent piece can be bought separately from the vent. See the picture below:

I bought mine along with a few other parts from 00ls-sport. He was a big help in finding part numbers for everything I needed. It was a brand new dealer part. (He works there). I was very well prices and he shipped it super fast. I had absolutely no problems and would highly recommend him.

This has been a paid advertisement for.......I'm JUST KIDDING. He's great to deal with.

lol, thanks for the props! :D

I got one just the other day from Bill/Team Ford Parts.

Just be careful trying to install it. Mine was a tight fit and I snapped the louver at the pivot point on one side....oops, I hate when that happens! :( Seems I failed to notice that I had the rubber mallet set on 3/4 tweak instead of 1/2! Fortunately, the louver stays in place, so only *I* know about it.

I assumed this piece was just a tight press fit. One side would fit in fine, but I had trouble pressing in the opposite side with my fingers, hence the rubber mallet idea. Or, is this thing supposed to be glued in place? Anyone replace one and have some advice?

If your still under warrenty just have the dealership replace it. I've had all but the left drivers side strip fall out and be replaced my my dealership.

Thank you guys for the info and part numbers. I'll get a hold of one of the members you listed here if the dealership won't take care of it. I didn't know warranty covered that and they didn't mention it to me.

Went back to the dealership and they said it wasn't covered by my extended warranty. Talked to the service manager and he gave me the part and apologized for the missleading info about the whole vent. Weird but whatever. Anyways no problem installing it, it just pushed in, no rubber mallet needed (lol) Thanks for the help.

That's good news to hear. I have plenty of warranty left, but it never crossed my mind to ask about this either.

I'm going to try mine again, when I have plenty of time/patience. I tried to rush that job and paid the consequence. Actually, I may be able to glue the louver at the pivot point back together since it snapped cleanly.

I'm generally not a "gorilla" and had successfully removed/installed new high beams/re-installed, and accessed the cabin air filter without a hitch. This was just before attacking the poor air vent with a rubber mallet incident.
