NEEEEED transmission

I wish I were in NJ, I have a 96 parts car I am getting rid of in a few weeks with a working engine/tranny.

PM sent

dont even bother with a used 93-95 tranny, or even a 93-97 tranny.
You can get a 98+ tranny for a few bucks more, and be done with it. No more OWC roller clutch problems, old-style main control, etc.

There was a member on LOD selling a 98 tranny in the FOR SALE section...

try green-leaf, or car-part.com
crown vic(civilian)/towncar/grand marquis/F-150 2WD/Mustang

anything that came with a 4R70W from 98-on will work...might have to use a different torque converter than what the tranny comes from, and get into some easy-to-do electrical changes(re-pin the harness connector, retain your model-year TCC solenoid and MLPS, and swap you manual lever over-an additional 1 hour worth of labor at most).

Believe me, the 98+ will be as easy to find as a 93-95, but is a much better upgrade.

Get a 2001 4R70W

IF anyone has or knows of any 93-95 lincoln mark viii's for parts (specifically transmission) located near new jersey please lemme know chadsfury@aol.com

I agree that you should get a later model transmission, but I suggest you go buy a 2001 Mustang GT transmission instead of another Mark VIII tranny. 2000 and up 4R70W transmissions have better clutches.

I got one for my '93 Mark VIII for $450 from Leesville Auto Wreckers in Rahway. It even came with a torque converter. They dropped the tranny in my trunk, and I drove it to my cousin's shop to install.

Don't get any trannys built after 2002 though; they have no place for a speedo sensor.
