Anyone know if this new KB 2.1 kit will fit under the stock gen 2 hood?

I know the cobra motor with the stock sc will fit under the Gen2 hood no problem. Jeremy had it done to his when he went to Carlisle

It's just the same non-intercooled kitt hat has been available for 96-98 Cobras, except now they have a "big bore" 2.1 supercharger upgrade that can go in its place. Still not intercooled. Nothing to get REAL excited about.

i had been under the impression that the only kit that worked for our cars was the vortech centrifrugal.

The 1.5 KB kit for the B heads was one of the first blowers that came out for the 4.6 DOHC... and the kit definately shows it's age. My friend had it for awhile on his 97 Cobra.

Not exactly. He had to add (.5"?? I believe) .. K member spacers.. but yeah then it'll fit.

Who cares about a blower. Sullivan is in the process of making a b-head intake manifold. And you know what that means.... Cobra Intake manifolds are going to be selling like hot cakes not to mention cheaper.

what do you mean, who cares about a blower? I care about a blower...I think a lot of people on this site do as well.

Ok... wheres all the blown mark viii's then? Id personally just scrap the b-heads and get some nice p&p'ed c heads with a intercooled blower.

I think it's a mistake to imagine that everyone owning a supercharged mark viii is on this board, or even, on the internet. Also, I can't afford a supercharger right now, and I am sure that many others are in my position. That doesn't make me any less interested.

I second the C-heads and intercooled blower. Might as well just get a C-head tuner kit and toss the thing on.

Jeremy's car has a lowered cross member as well. The main clearance issue with the KB 2.2L intercooled is the front nose pulley as that is where the hood clearance is tightest.

Yup. I wonder how it would be with a cobra hood?

My eaton will fit fine under stock hood without the k-member shims as long as the pulley is small enough. With 2.93 on it now and 1/2" shims I have 1" clearance to the hood (hood liner cut out around the pulley). No need for the cobra hood, or want for that matter.

It really matters what setup you will run, as single belt drive systems put the blower pulley further back than secondary drive like the eaton and any other 03-04 style blower. 2.2KB on Charlie's car is a single drive and it fits fine under the cobra hood. I don't think it would clear as well if the snout were 2" longer.
