I sold the Continental convertible a while back, and decided it was time for another classic in my stable.
I picked up this fully restored 66 Tbird a month ago.
The best part is no work to do on it, just get in and drive.

Beautiful. My dad was a big part of the thunderbirds of KC club. I remember all the work he put in to them.

Beautiful car. I've always like old T-Birds; my grandmother's '67 Town Landau is still sitting waiting for a restoration one of these days when I have the time...

390?

Friend of mine had on in highschool it was a very very nice car and we could pack a bunch of folks in that canyon of a back seat.

we got 9 people in it one day when we left for lunch.

Yes, it has the 390.
Everything has been rebuilt, or is new in, and on this engine.
The only thing that wasn't replaced was the expansion tank.
The previous owner used the original for some reason.
The air cleaner looks like it came from a different engine.
The 66 was more pointed.

Thanks for the great reviews on my new bird.
It isn't a Lincoln but, it rides just like it's big sister.
I guess that's why I decided on a tbird.
Years ago I had a 63 tbird convertible, and I remember the greatest thing about that car was the handeling, and the smooth ride.
It felt like a much bigger car.
I get the same feeling with this bird.
It handles like a smaller car, but gives the smooth ride of a Lincoln.
The 59 continental convert was a nice car, but just too big.
It was like driving a battleship around town.
If I recall, those 59 Lincolns were the largest production vehicles ever made..

I think you're right about that--the air cleaner snorkel on the 390 in my '66 Galaxie is round with a flare at the open end. The one on your T-Bird looks like the air cleaner snorkel on my '70 F100.

Do you have the Autolite "Crackerbox" 4bbl?

I once had a 63 T-Bird,loved it. Traded it for a 67 (with them sq.taillights) in Dayton,Ohio when I worked at WING radio. Later the 67 got totaled as we crossed the intercoastal bridge on Sunrise Blvd. in Ft.Lauderdale. Hit by an unlicensed teenage son of a NAVY ADMIRAL driving a LINCOLN TOWN CAR. Didn't want a lawsuit PAID US BIGTIME bought another 67 Bird (rare) Powder Blue with white vinyl top in NEENAH-MENESHA, Wisc. Didn't have AC,,as they sometimes order them WITHOUT AC that far north. LOVED THAT CAR.
