There are quite a few threads in this and the main LS section covering a multitude of things regarding the KKM CAI's. I suggest that you look around for them so that you can find the answer to not only the questions you are asking on here but also any future questions you may have.

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) About 5-10hp
4) Depends on driving habits
5) Yes

Heat soak will be a problem though. I've felt gains from a homemade heat shield and using a tube to route air from the just left of the radiator in the lower grill to the airbox area. Also saw a 1.5 MPG gain w/ that over the Tru-Rev w/ no shield or tube, same driving habits.

Coul u write a tech article for this please? sounds like a nice little improvement

I dropped over a 100 degrees in air charge temp from putting my stock kkm intake in to the front bumper, making it a real Cold Air Intake, not a hot air short ram like mrshl13 was talking about... my car now is much better out of the hole now and accelerates smoother... but i have a gen 2 not sure what yours is... I'll post pics...

here it is!

my PC is screwed up, I cant upload to Photobucket or to the site..........

the Rubber Elbow cost me 6 bucks at home depot... and the black PVC pipe cost me 4 dollars for 2 feet and the KKM cost me 90 bucks on EBAY! all to gether 100 dollar cold air intake... you just can't beat it!

oh yea and 2 minutes with a Torch to cut off part of the "support brace" on the radiator support for clearance for the PVC pipe and filter

The posts since mine are a much better idea. I've gone that route myself. It's a pain to connect some of the tubes through the hole but a cleaner and probably more consistent setup.

You actually get 5-10 hp from a KKM CAI. It seems kinda high to me.. but I could be wrong.

There's recent talk about this in the main forum. You'll find out what you're looking for.
