Hello Everyone!

I'm new to the forum but have been a Lincoln enthusiast for years. As you can tell by my name, the Continental is the car that started it all for me back in the early winter of 1997. This was roughly 9 months before I got my driver's license. I want to post what made me a devoted Lincoln fan in the Continental forum and will do so shortly. I do not currently own a Lincoln, but I have been diving into the history for the last 3 weeks or so and wish to purchase/lease an MKZ soon. I do, however, own 2 Ford products - a 2007 Ford Fusion and a 1998 Ford Explorer as business vehicles. I'm 31 years old and I'm a small business owner from Staten Island, New York.

A lot of what has brought me here was my interest in what Ford Motor Company has been doing lately. I am completely enamored with what Alan Mulally has been steering the ship. I bought some Ford stock (out of faith) and will put my money where my mouth is. I respect all cars and am interested in all makes. I did come from an import family and was myself solely an import owner until 2004 when I purchased the Explorer. It has 202,xxx miles and I really couldn't ask for better reliability and driving fun (from a 12-year old SUV). I was previously predisposed to buying Japanese cars out of fear that an American car would give me nothing but headaches. I do not want to turn my introduction into an attack on any other products, but I genuinely have had more problems with my Nissan Maxima, Toyota Camry and Hondas than I had in my Fords. My fiance and I had a different 2007 for a 3-year lease and both our Ford products have only seen mostly routine maintenance. Our 2004 Honda Accord Coupe has lots of little nagging problems.

I'm really excited for the future of Lincoln and I remain optimistic even if we aren't getting a re-imagined Continental or a Mark IX. If they are pouring money, technology and diligent research like they've been on the standard Ford line, we all should benefit greatly as consumers and as fans of Lincoln.

Sorry for the length.

Regards,

JM
