The Seville is ending it's lifetime unfortunately and it's been a great car but I'll end up selling it to one of the upstanding fine citizens of Camden. The V is on it's way out too. I have the toy car, the WRX and now I need a practical Sedan or Coupe that's comfortable but somewhat fun.

I'm trying to keep it between $35-40,000 and I never buy new, ever.

Since BMW 335's and 135's are too new in the model year they can't be had used yet. Same goes for the Audi A5.

So far I'm looking at the A4, S4, CTS, 350Z or a later model E46 M3 if I can find one. I don't want a Mercedes. I have to keep in mind I need something a bit practical so getting an S4 is like the car I already have, just worse on gas.

I don't like them, drove one and it's not that great and it'd suck down gas.

I'm going to check out the G37's tonight.

I dont care for them but the G8 is in that price range.
Then you have Acura TL Type S, but has to be the type S or its not worth it.
Too bad the Sabb 9.3 didnt have more power, I like the new redisigned look.
Then you have the GTO, 05+ has 400hp, Infiniti M45 (not the M35 though). Its not practical but theres the Lotus Elise that can out run a mustang on a course, you cant beat its handling.
And who says the new 335's are too new? 1 of dozens I found. I'd take a bus to buy the car then drive it home if I wanted it that bad. Its worth a weekend trip. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...oor&transmission=&max_price=40000&cardist=407

I have a local dealership I'm loyal to for Cadillacs and BMWs and I'm more of an instant satisfaction person. I could probably find a 335 if I looked hard enough but from everything I've read the G37 is comparable and $7-10,000 less. I didn't even consider the M35 either or the TL Type-S (which I agree, the base isn't worth it). The RL is out of price range for me and I'm really trying to avoid American unless it's the CTS.

Saab and Pontiac are way not reliable enough.

Glad to help. But I'd go for the M45 instead of the M35 if 40k is your cap on price range cause its got more go, it will be more of a pleasure to drive. The TL Type is nice but I dont know how fast they realy are, I never drove one. And I have been a fan of the G35 since they hit the streets, and when they came out with the G37 I about busted nut. Even the 4dr 37 is sweet but the 4dr 35 sucked.

I drove the TL Type S when I had the LS and I can tell you seat of the pants, the LS was faster.

New CTS is sweet, why not get one of those slightly used? If we reccommend something other than a Lincoln or Cadillac you won't post here anymore!

Some people probably welcome that fact. I like the new CTS, but I also really like the G37 now. And taking into account reliability, resale, etc... the G37 is the better choice.

1. Doesn't matter
2. Preferably rear but I can live with FWD and AWD
3. Foreign, Cadillac being the exception

For the money you are looking at you could buy a Maxima SE Loaded. I have had 2 of them...2003 & 2005.

My 2005 was Black on Dark Charcoal Leather...pretty quick!
0-60 was right at 6 Seconds and the car got great gas mileage 550 Miles per tank on the highway!

Great solid feeling car!

I actually put my order in for a fully loaded to the teeth CTS last night so I'll be getting it beggining of September.

You could wait a bit and pick up a Lincoln MKS Twin Turbo when they come out. Going by its platform mate, reliability should be outstanding, it will probably cost more than $40,000 though.

Otherwise I'd say go for the G37.

The only way I'd drive a Lincoln is if I were given it free, and even then I'd probably sell it right away. I went to the Infiniti dealer and they were complete asses. I kept saying I can't buy until September and all he said was well it'd look good in your driveway now, you can get it now and let it sit, no harm in getting it now, get it now, get it now, get it now.

Whats your take on the Lexus LS line?

They are great cars IMO and very reliable. The depreciation value is nothing like the Lincoln LS.

Nice but well out of my price range. I like Toyotas/Lexus a lot. They have really cool bells and whistles but sitting inside one just doesn't have a wow factor for me at all. I think they look very plain and boring on the inside. If I'm going to be sitting inside the car most of the time, I want something nice to look at. If I ever got an SUV it'd be a 4Runner or Sequoia though.

430's and 460's to boring? They are sick inside, some of the finest interiors I have seen and with a top price range of 40k I think you could at least find a decent 430.

I can vouch that as far as the SUV goes the 4 Runner could be a good deal but I love my Highlander!

That is another very reliable vehicle that is well worth the money and for a SUV its great on gas IMO. I have also been on some pretty tough terrain!

To me, they have some of the most boring looking interiors. I didn't say fit and finish and the little toys aren't top quality since they are, but it's just all boring to look at. Something about the aesthetics doesn't do it for me.

For some reason the CTS interior just looks more pleasing to the eye.

I think I know what it is. Again its just a thought but some of the wood grain is over kill. If that was in black also it would be one of the nicest I have seen with out paying in excess of 80k$. IMO that Cadillac interior is way to busy with its futuristic shape.

To each his own and this is a prime example.

I like busy, I don't like how cars practically drive themselves these days. The Lexus seems like a rolling couch that drives itself. The CTS looks more inviting for you to actually drive it. I looked at IS350s but I only liked the dashboard of the entire interior.

Well it's been selling like crazy and has been getting great reviews. And the Motor Trend car of the year award. The salesman said he's actually sold a few CTS' just because of those hot ass commercials with Kate Walsh when the car "turns her on."
