Hey LvC,

Had my cats clog up on me last week, which was a bit of a surprise given I hadn't detected any misfires or any CEL. Oh well, I know the drill. Head off to the Only Coil Thread Needed thread for a refresher on what to do. Car goes in the shop for new cats, I get the car back and replace coils and plugs Tuesday night. Then tonight while driving I get a P0430 code.

What should I be looking at now? A search suggests possible bad oxygen sensors. If so, is their a certain brand that's recommend (looking at Rock Auto)? I'll likely take the car to the shop tomorrow and see what they say considering they just worked on it.

Thanks!

how many miles? it may be a O2 sensor.

but what brand cat did you use?

could switch the 02 sensor from left to right to see if the code stays on that side (cats) or changes and follows a bad sensor.

Not sure what brand the shop used.

2003 with 190,000+ miles.

I'll try switching the sensors this weekend and see what that tells me.

at almost 200k miles, the sensors are probably long overdue for a change anyway...

the reason I asked about the brand, is that a lot of people have had CELs with brand new non OEM cats. and most people will try the non OEM cats due to having OEM cats installed can run a grand or two...
