I got my new discs from DHL. I guess the smaller ones are for
the rear. thiers no makings for left or right.

What tools are I going to need? 36mm socket??

them 2 look like the drivers side front and rear, You can tell because the direction the slot is in.

Correct. The big ones are for the front. Smaller ones for the rear.

You know what they say:

"You gotta have some big ones upfront if you wanna hang with the real men."

Ok, so that didn't quite come out right, but wtf... Get your mind out of the gutter.

do I have to have the studs pressed in??

No, unless you plan on getting new ones because one or more broke? The rotors simply slip over the hubs on the Mark VIII, and the hubs are what have the studs in them. :Beer

I dont want to assume anything, so I'll say it:

be absolutely sure you remove every trace of the protective coating before installing.

Brake-kleen will do the trick.

yes, on the brakecleen.

and no, you don't need to remove the hub nut to take the rotors off. Depending on how long they have been there, and your winter road conditions they MAY be froze on there, in which case, you will need a BFH.
