Stay away from it. Go Kenwood or Pioneer. Others will join in with model numbers that are far better quality and dependability.

+1 Or even Clarion for that matter. Single or Double din is a matter of taste. I'm still in the middle on what to choose just for the fact if I go single, I can have a cubby hole, in which the Gen I doesn't have. Sounds funny but I use the cubby in my wife's CRV all the time.

I went single in my gen 1 and had a space underneath the headunit. I simply filled it with a another piece of stereo equipment. :).

whats the difference between single and double?
i just want a nice big unit to replace my stock one... nothing AMAZING just a sharp looking unit i can plug my iphone into

Single is your first pic. Double is your second. It has to do with the height of the deck. LS's run doubles stock, but you can go single if you really like the unit.

this is kinda in your guys' hands lol im trusting u guys on helpin me find a slick unit. i am about as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to audio. my fear is ill get one and it wont match up to install it and next thing i know its broke or somethin

hahaha its almost $100 cheaper on there than amazon... fml of course it would be on back order :(

directron.com i can get it (with shipping) for $290... seems like thats cheapest i could find it

Don't forget to factor in a wiring harness as well as the dash kit so your budget of $300-$350 may be a bit less($250-$300 after those purchases) for the actual head unit. Even less if you are having it professionally installed.

Keep these important things in mind when buying any car stereo equipment.

i tend to not think the little things through. i would most likely have my buddy install it who did his and a couple other kids i know.

what about this idea, is there any way i can rig up a headphone jack that can be wired from my stock radio? sopretty much using a double sided headphone cord to plug into my radio and ipod? im just sick of using those fm transmitters you buy for $10 and them being static filled

My suggestion is that perhaps you start off with a single din unit that has an ipod port as well as any features you feel as if you need. Those can can be found for $150-$230 all day. Start with an effective unit for your needs and not the flashiest unit to show off in front of your friends.

i have the power acoustic in my ls. it has great sound output, u can get it for around 325. its a double din, with touch screen.
