I saw an LS at the local Lincoln stealer in the service depot. It was just sitting on the floor waiting its turn in line for the racks. I noticed it was a black LS/v8...probably a 2005 or 06? Then I looked at the rear tires and they were FAT! It was like I was staring at a car with a narrowed rearend?

I thought it was optical illusion? So I just walked into the service bay like I was going to get something out of my car and I walked past the mystery LS?

I noticed it had the FACTORY 17" 8 spoke star chrome wheels!!!!! How could this be? With all that tire under the car it could never be the stock wheel?

The fronts were wide too? Hmmmmm

I looked down to see what tire was on it? It was a BFG g/Force T/A-kd tire and the size was: 315/35 YR17 !!!! This thing had 11 inches of tread under the fender on STOCK wheels! It had 245/45 YR17 in the front!

I asked the service adviser that wrote my LS up for its first oil and filter and service checkup how that guy got that much rubber under the car? He told me the guy took the wheels off the car and had a wheel repair shop cut them in half and they added 2 and a half inches to the stock width and they welded them back together!!! I also found that its an 06 model! They guy bought it and had the wheels widened to almost 11 inches wide!

I could also see drilled rotors on the car all the way around!

That thing looked like an M5 or an AMG Benz with that much tire under it! It was insane! It was the best tire combo I have seen on a LS and it was with the stock wheels at that!

I had no camera. I'll try to call and find out the guys name and see if he'll let me a take a picture. The service department may know him...but they may not give out his number?

It would probably be cheaper to just buy some AM 17x11" wheels. But I bet it did look badazz

I don't think it cost that much to widen rims, but I could be wrong. I can't believe he fit 315's in the back. I'm going 255's all around.
