HI I recently purchased an 01 Lincoln LS in Winter Park, Fl. Little did I know about the vehicle before buying but have been learning ever since... I'm at the point now of either selling it or completely repairing everything... and I haven't decided. It turns out the dealer lied and left out many things about the car, (like the severe accident it had to be in to have so many items missing and broken) and anytime I fix something I find something new to repair. I've been in the Navy for 14 years active and the last 2 reserve, so my mentality is to just fix the damn thing so it works... then sell it, but if I put that much work into it, am I really gonna wanna part with it? Since I'm a learn as I go kinda guy I have found that this is the hardest car I've ever tackled. Its also my first American car since I was 16! It all started, (and continues) with overheating problems about a week after I got the car. they have gotten increasingly worse but at this point I've spent more money working on the car than I have paying for it! At this point I am redo-ing the dual electric fans I have on the radiater (one in front, one behind the radiator) Luckily I have an electronics repair Background so its not as hard as other tasks. but I usually find the problems using basic troubleshooting techniques. The issue I'm dealing with now is the heat from the engine is melting my regulator for my fans. Wary, I am replacing it with 2 regulators instead of splicing off of one. It was an ok temporary fix, but now the A/C has gone out and I want to avoid a blown head gasket! So This weekend will be spent dealing with those issues and replacing minor filters and such I haven't replaced since I got the car.my only real upgrades have been the sound system but I'm not yet done with that yet either... if I keep the car I will finish though... Well I suppose I will keep you apprised of my progress. Until then, Thanks for reading!
