Yes, I'm known a Yooper! I have wanted a LS for a while when I finally found one. At first it was going to be a winter car when my Mitsubuishi 3000GT VR4 went into storage for the winter(I know it's a ricer car but it is so fun to drive, 4wheel drive, 4 wheel steer, active aero, etc) So the more I looked for high mileage LS I realized that I really like the V8 LSE. I have been looking for one and finally located one and am picking it up this weekend. It's a 2002 LSE, black with gray interior, rear spoiler and factory chrome rims. He is also throwing in the set of winter tires and rims. The car is in incredible shape and only has 73K miles. The car has a clean carfax report and he has not had any issues with it. He said when he first got it the dealer replaced the valve gaskets because of the typical leaking. No problem since.

My history is that I grew up with my family owning the oldest Ford dealership in the Upper Peninsula. Great grandfather started selling the car known as the EMF in 1908 (they had to put them together to sell). They picked up Ford around 1911. The Dealership was in the family until me. My parents did not want to be a dealer because of all the headaches of a small dealership. I worked there growing up and even took a few years off of college to see if I wanted to be a dealer. I told them to sell it and now I'm Project Engineer designing shipboard equipment and elevaors for our Navy. Still am a bit loyal to Ford, have 2003 Expediton Eddie Bauer (wife), Mitsubishi 3KGT VR4 (summer car) and a 94 Grand Prix (winter beater) and this weekend I can add the 2002 Lincoln. In the past i owned a 66 Mustang, 83 Mustang GLX convertible and an 88 Mustang GT convertible.:)

02 LSE with 73k..... not bad! Previous owner said it already had VCG probs? 90K is when the normally start defecating all over themselves. Either way some minor modifications to the first gen LS and they wake right up and you start rollin with the 2nd gen guys no problem. These cars are a blast to drive!!!! Welcome to the site!

Hey bunk! Glad you found us! Welcome!

Glad to be part of the group. When I picked up the VR4 I got with a forum of 3SI (3000GT/ Stealth International) in the Wisconsin area. Learned a lot about the car attended so get togethers and now do most of the maintenance on the car. I'm sure I will do the same with the LS so I will have some questions on what to look out for before I work on it. Last year the owner said he had the tranny fuild flushed, didn't have a problem just wanted to do it as general maintenance. I'm sure it will need plugs and belts. It is also due for an oil change. Just glad to get a nice set of rims and winter tires with the car.

Very few Lincoln dealership in the U.P. eh, so not may LS's around. There are 3 base models in town so I will be the first with the LSE. I'm sure it will stick out. Wife told me that the LSE will be her "summer" next spring!! I haven't even picked it up and she takes it away from me!! The joys of being married.

NHLSV8: What type of mods to get the first gen to wake up? Just curious. I sure hope this car will not be like my VR4. It eats your wallet for upgrades.

Are any of you running K&N intakes?
