Hey all. Just want to say HI. I found this site from LLSOC and thought I might bring some helpful info to fellow Lincoln LS owners. I have a black 2000 LS-V8, fully loaded non-sport (early build w/ a 3.58 rear gear, rear head rests, full size spare, Premimum Alpine w/ rear-deck subs, etc). My only mod is a CAI, and I've posted my 1/4 times in the Timeslip data base here. My other cars consist of a black '98 T/A WS6 'vert, a black '99 Dakota R/T club-cab, and a black-on-red '68 Cutlass S (my first car that I purchased from Dad in '81). My LS is the first FoMoCo vehicle I've owned, and I like it alot. However I've been generally a GM guy all my life (Olds, Chevies and Pontiacs, no Buicks or Caddys), but have owned 2 other Chrysler products besides my R/T, and have been happy with them as well. I pride myself for not being closed minded about certain brands of cars, although I'm also proud that I've only owned ONE import and ONE FWD car (all the rest have been good 'ol Detroit V8-RWD vehicles). :)

Welcome Johnny.

We certainly will appreciate anything you have to offer on the LS's. We're building a Tech Site and maybe you could proffer some info for that forum.

If it wasn't for the "b" pillar, I'd probably be driving an LS right now.

:W to :smilies-3 Join the fun.

You will find this is a great :invasion: of automobile Enthusiasts open to friendly :fight: over which is better :L or :C and other :soapbox: topics of interest and some :bsflag: .

But most of all we all like :steering .

Thanks for the warm welcome folks! Just to clarify, Caddys are not entirely "foreign" to me. One of my very first car repair experiences was helping dad rebuild the 4-bbl carb on his '62 Sedan deVille. Gramps drove a '67 Coupe deVille, in which I got to drive him around in his later years. I think my favorite is a '62 Eldo 'vert (love the long, low, smooth lines of that year), but I also love the '67-'68 FWD Eldos too (hide-aways and that tapered rear, YUM!). A bud of mine picked one of those up that needed ALOT of work and I got to check it out up close. I never knew that the doors were so long it had TWO interior handles, one for the front seat and another for the rear seat passenger. Bizzarre, how many 2-dr cars have 4 interior handles? I did own a "cousin" to the FWD Eldos, a '69 Toronado (oops, better make that TWO FWD vehicles I've owned..... almost forgot about that one). Those early Toros had that "out there" styling that really appealed to me.

Speaking of "out there" styling, the NEW Caddy's, while at first looked bizzare, are beginning to look better to me. In fact my fiance' and I (the LS is "hers") looked at a CTS before we ended up w/ the LS. She liked the styling, but I didn't like the V6, knowing there was plenty of room for a V8 under that hood. ;) Then last year when the CTS-V was introduced, the rims / grill transformed that car and is much more appealing to me (not that 400HP has anything to do w/ that). The XLR is also very nice looking in person. Not to take anything away from FoMoCo, they are doing some neat things w/ the GT and '05 Mustang (the first 'Stang since '70 that I'd actually consider owning), I can only hope they inject some of that "synergy" into Lincoln, and soon!

Thanks for letting me ramble. :)

I agree Johnny. The cadillacs are certainly moving back into my "visually pleasing" zone as well! And the extra power certainly is a turn on. ;)

:W to the LvC.......post some pix....if you have not already......

Thanks. As strange as this may sound, I've owned our LS for over 2 years and have yet to take some nice pics of it. Nothing special, really, just a Black '00 w/ chrome 16" wheels (non-sport, chrome on the bumpers). It looks just like about all the other ones you've seen. Here's a link to a Flash web page that was made for me a few yrs ago (before the LS purchase, and before I got my red shaker hood on my R/T).

I need to get this updated and add the LS.
