Hey all...a few months back I bought a 99 p71 x lapd crown vic police car for DD use. Fantastic car, handled great, quick for a non pi 2v 4.6L. Got the taste for Late model performance again (resto modding 2 66 mustangs and a 72 maverick right now)...So i've been searching for three weeks for just the right mark viii. I finally settled on this one...104,000 miles, black/black 98 mark viii LSC. Interior is near flawless...engine hums like brand new. Torque converter though has occasional shudder around 70/75 mph...gonna change out the fluid. Paint is far from perfect, but looks decent. Could use the respray on the trunklid and parts of the roof.

I'm very happy though!!!!!

Yesterday I drove 550 miles round trip to vegas and back to pick her up...$3500

Sweet car. A bit steep at 3500 cause of the paint but otherwise very nice.

Yea it was about $500 off IMO at least...but the black/black models weren't showing up often enough, and nearly every one of them were faded like this with more miles...LOL a local dealer had a 97 identical to mine with faded paint for $5700.... I ultimately decided to go for it cause of the miles and interior condition

looks like you got alot of cleaning ahead of you.

Great find non the less. WELCOME TO LVC!

I hope you are going to tint the windows. My black interior is scorching hot in the summer and I live in Virginia. I can only imagine how hot it will get where you are.

Here is my p71 that I'm now selling to my father...

I just tinted the windows dark 2 months ago. I absolutely love the tint...I've gotten pulled over in the car once for a left turn (oops)...but only got a warning for the tint...so I'm thinking I may tint the windows in the mark dark also

congratulations...these cars have a love/hate relationship...besides the tint, fixing the minor paint issue what mods are you considering if any? welcome to LVC by the way..

I can totally see why the value's dropped so low and they're common in the junk yards...when all the electronic's start going..what you wind up with is a 40k ford that doesn't work right..lol.

Me being a car guy though, and I can build a car forwards and backwards...it doesn't scare me. I like the challenge of electronics and mechanicals.

Exhaust mods for sure...flowmasters to start with, and I'll eventually open the entire exhaust up more...Jmod asap (('ve got slight torque converter shutter at times, so I'm gonna drop the pan to change the fluid anyhow)...tint.... eventually I wouldn't mind some 355 or 373 gears, maybe a cobra intake or 03/04 supercharger...but I'm probably dreaming at that.

welcome to LVC. i love seeing new members find us, and to see they have a blk/blk gen lsc makes me specially happy, since i have 3 in my driveway i love them the most out of all mark VIII's! looks like a decent car, something looks funky with that back right tire, looks way too small for the car. anyway have fun fixing it up, and show us progress pics along the way.

Yea...I it was handling funny on the way home and I stopped at a gas station...both front tires were under 20 pounds air...and both rears were under 10 pounds of pressure...apparently it's been sitting for a while. The tire is the right size,...and it handles much better now. I believe my sunroof issues are from the pine needles that seem caked inside the roof. I pulled the back hatch plate out to see what's jamming in the sunroof and their are piles of pine needles in the headliner. Fun stuff.

fix that torque converter shudder with a 2oz. red tube of dr. tranny insta-shudder fix sold @ your local napa, trust me it works wonders!

i've been reading on that...and it sounds like good stufff..>I think I'll still change the fluid...need a reason to pull the pan and jmod it anyhow. If the fluid doesn't smell burnt perhaps I'll put that stuff in just for now. It only did it the first 30-50 miles of the trip, then stopped altogether. I suspect the car's been sitting the better part of 6 months to a year before they decided to sell...perhaps it just needed to stretch it's legs

beautiful car! thanks for posting pics. I love the P71, makes me miss my Vic Sport.

Welcome to LVC, nice color combo. Looks as if you have water inside the rear neon, or is that shadowing from the pic angle?

some real sharp eyes here....I noticed today that the trunk light has some water in it...not sure how to take care of that yet

dr tranny does work awesome, but you are not supposed to leave it in, its just used to tell you if the tranny is still good or shot, if it makes the shudder go away after about 500 miles or less, then pull the pan, drain the trans and convertor, change the filter and refill with mercon 5, your shudder will be all gone.

Nice ride.

:W to :V

You are in Corona? I am not far in Cherry Valley.

Should meet up this summer.

Your car is 100 times nicer then mine though. :)
