Just joined the forum, although I have been lurking for several months. I purchased a 2004 LS V-8 sport last month. It was a one owner car with under 40k miles, ultra clean inside and out. I paid 11,300 with decent financing terms from a local dealer. Since purchasing it I put a custom exhaust with flowmaster mufflers (removed resonators), and a K&N CAI. I also changed out the plugs and the coil packs. The car runs strong, I am planning on a custom tune soon. The car replaces my 1999 Taurus SHO as a DD. My 17 year old son has pried the SHO away from me for his use.
The Lincoln joins the following cars in my stable:
1988 Mustang LX Coupe (original owner, supercharged, highly modded)
2008 F150 Lariat Supercrew
2003 Expedition
2004 Mustang GT convertible
2008 Shelby GT500
1999 Taurus SHO

The LS is the only car that I currently own that I did not buy new.

This was a long time coming. I came close to buying a new LS as a DD in 1999, but opted for the SHO instead (10k less, and a great car in its own right). I came close again in 2004, but opted to keep the SHO as a DD and bought the convertible Mustang as a toy instead. After my son took the SHO, I used the F150 as a DD for 9 months or so before landing the LS.

This site has been very helpful in diagnosing that the nasty miss the LS had was a common and pretty minor issue cured by changing the coils and plugs, and in determining what CAI to buy. All of the cars I own have a V8 (gas prices are killing me) and all have been modded with at least a CAI and a custom exhaust. If I want to save gas money, I ride my 2006 Vespa LX 150 scooter or my mountain bike to work.

Thanks again for providing a great source of information about these cars. I do not post too often, although I lurk a lot in forums relating to the cars I own.
