i picked up a green 93 on a whim and man am i glad i did. what a sweet ride! i just want to make it a little louder. i posted this question on the general forum too.

i bought a dynomax super turbo muffler but it looks a little tricky to install? am i wrong?

second, what else should i get/do for some good sound?

thanks!

First welcome to the site..

Second this question is good for the Mark VIII forum... plus has been discussed offen. Frogman will tell you to do a search (Sorry Froggy had to do it LOL there is still room for you to tell this newbie to use the search function LOL)... But the rest of us will be happy to answer questions again.

Sound depends on what you want to do... and how much you want to spend.

Cheapest and quickest... cut off your rear mufflers buy some tips... and you are done. Nice deep sound, a drone in the car at 1500 rmps but with the radio on it's not that bad.

Once you chop your mufflers for any reason... whether to add new mufflers or just some tips you are going to need some exstention to the pipe as the stock mufflers mount just about at the 90 bend and there is not much lip left to attach too. If you can cut right at the muffler you will have some space for an extention.. Personally I'd cut after the bend and then get a 90 piece added.

In most cases you should weld the muffler or extention to the pipe.

On my 95 I took the resonator off after the 3rd cat and put a 1 in 2 out Magnaflow muffler then rand duals out no other mufflers.. Nice tone not too hard but when you get on it you get a very nice roar.. Cost a total of $300.

On my 94 I have just chopped the mufflers off and have run tips out. Much deeper roar it's not too loud for in town, but it does say I've got some balls.

Members have done many options some costing over $1000 all giving nice sounds to the Mark VIII. It's all about what do you want to spend or what sound you want to get.

Personally I don't want my Mark VIII's sounding like Mustangs. I want them to show they have some muscle but I still want them to be a Lincoln.

Welcome again... good luck...

Feel free to send a PM (personal message) if you have any questions.
