Crank up your car?

Not sure I understand your description. But wild guess is body or suspension bushings are making the cracking noises.

Explain more about what your are doing etc.

I particilarly took note of this when I had it towed yesterday....when the guy jumped my car and he got in and turned the wheel a little I heard this kinda popping noise..wasn't really loud but, was noticable...coming from the driver side wheel well area....i don't hear anything when i am driving at a higher rate of speed just when i slow down and if i move the wheel a little i hear this little popping noise...hope this helps..

When do you hear the noise? If you sit in the car and just turn the wheel back and forth? do you have to be stepping on the brakes? Is it only when the car is motion.

Do you have aftermarket brake pads?

Could be something as simple as missing anti rattle clips on the brake pads. Usually after market pads dont come with them and most gas station mechanics arent smart enough to notice and swap over the clips from the old pads. Or well um use factory pads that come with new ones!

it's the ball joints...how much am i looking at for repairs on this and how hard is a self install?

the parts are quite expensive. do a search here. I understand it's not terribly difficult to do yourself. do you know if it's the upper or lower or both?

I think the part lists for between 300-400. you can probably get for 250 or so?

wow...a bet my labor cost will be through the roof at the dealership..wonder if pepboys can help me out again...cause i have to get that replaced soon

trying to remember what exactly needs replaced. on my 03 looks like it's part of the knuckle. alldata (for 03) quotes about $180 parts plus only 1 hour labor. if this is correct you're looking at $250 installed. whatever it is get it done fast, that's a very dangerous problem.
