I just ordered a set of the motorcraft quick struts off amazon for $130 with free shipping and got them today..They are actually the sport suspension struts ..So if anyone is buying new struts these are actually cheaper than buying the regular struts and they came with the spring already so they are much easier to put on...

Thanks for the information. I was actually looking on Ebay last night for new struts for my LS. I'll go to Amazon and check them out.

Looks like they only have 1 left now and they raised the price a little bit,but just google motorcraft ast25 and somewhere else may have them

yes its called a quick strut, which means it comes with the spring already so you dont have to use a spring compressor..Thats why they call it "quick" because its quicker to change ...

Nice find. I wonder why they sell you 2 shocks with springs and shock covers for close to the cost of just one shock.

monroe's web site doesnt show a quick strut for the LS. it does for a escort. also amazon shows a shipping weight of 6.8 lbs. anyway i called ford friday and gave them the info and they told me ast25 motorcraft doesnt come with the spring. if this is wrong please post some photos of the quick strut you recived.

My research shows the same. I think sancho20 is in for a big surprise when just 4 shocks are delivered. The AST25s I've seen show a shock only, no spring. A shock/spring combo weighs closer to 15#.

so the ast25 comes complete with spring and mount? i was calling around was told it was the strut only..... do you have any photos? the only ones iv been able to find with the spring are made by strut master and there 350.00 for the pair. but if the ast25 do come with the spring ill get them. please let me know for sure they come complete..http://www.suspension-alternatives.com/Lincoln-LS-Suspension-Replacement-Kit-p/-linc-ls-f1.htm

I would never buy from a site that advertised replacements for the "air suspension" in the LS. If they don't know enough about the vehicle to know it does not have air shocks then I would not trust them to know the part they were selling would even fit.

I would be interested in a "quick" replacement to not mess with the spring compressor though. Hope we can find a reputable one.

x2. What i like even more, is when they get the years wrong. "This will fit 2000 to 2008" lincoln LSs.

a lot of times, this is due to them being worth as much as it cost to build them, end results will reflect this.

quoted for truth

just wondering if the "quick struts" showed up? also if it was the complete setup with spring and upper mount?

Yeah i looked all over for quick struts when i did mine but couldn't find them, i dont think they exist, maybe amazone is selling used struts off a doner car hahaha thats why they are so cheap

I wish I would've atleaat attempted to buy these and install them myself instead of paying 1400 for mine to get done. I gotta admit though, I learned a valuable lesson. The sensa tracks arent as bad to me as everyone else says. I do enjoy the softer struts, yet I don't notice any significant loss in handling on curves and turns. Lifetime warranty is what I really like though. Next time I'll do my own projects, I did purchase a Lincoln workshop manual. Time to get dirty!

That workshop manual comes in handy.

Looking at the options from Amazon
So the AST25 are the sport
but what are the AST26? euro or base?

They also have the ASH150 which from what I've gathered should be the base option and don't have the spring.
Is it a good idea to replace the spring when replacing the shock?

Well..... Did you get these? Was the spring pre-installed? Pictures?

Is his first post he said he got them today.

Come on Sancho, we can't take the suspense

Yes with eibachs springs :D

No you dont need to replace the springs with shocks, unless you want lowering springs
