I bought my ls a little over a year ago on an online auction site (Copart) for a steal, and when I went to pick it up I found out why…
The interior was trashed, ran terrible, and barely made it home from the auction house which was about 70 miles away. I got it home and thank god for this site, because of you, all of the problems I had with it I have been able to trouble shoot and fix, I work out of country a lot and never could find the time to get it running. I pulled up to the house the other day and I noticed that the temp tags were over a year old, I decided to go ahead and order all the part to make it at least run. I had to replace all of the coil packs and plugs, and I had to change the lower oil pan because it had blown shocks and first real bump I hit right by the house I took out the oil pan and drained all of the oil out right there in the driveway. I was so mad I pulled it into one of my parking spots at the house and let it sit there till I could find the time to fix it.
I was really disappointed because I knew because of your site that this thing had the potential to be a beast, because I was also looking at the Caddys but I hate a front wheel drive with a V8, they are sluggish and clunky, there for no fun to drive, nice ride on a strait run, but I like getting my car sideways!!!!
Now that I have it running right I LOVE MY LS!!! It’s fast and agile! I got into for the first time after I got it running and turned the traction control off and was super surprised at what a drift monster this thing was, especially because of the way it ran on the way home, now I need to get the interior cleaned up or replaced and make my baby pristine like she deserves. When I got it the passenger side door pocket was full of water, I vacuumed it out and took a magic eraser to all of the black mold that was growing on the inside, it was all over the seats, the steering wheel, door panels, the dash, the console, and the carpet is completely destroyed. I got it all cleaned up and looking ok last year, but now the door is full of water again and the interior is almost as bad as when I got it. But it is totally worth it and I will make it right again, is there any suggestions on where I can buy all new carpeting for my ls, without having to go to an upholsters, because I am sure with all of the groups out the like LMC and Summit, someone has to make a OEM replacement.
Regards,
John Todd
