Hey everyone just dropping in to say hello. Picked up a 98 Mark VIII LSC a few weeks ago and this looks like a great site to find info on these cars. I am a convert from MN-12 cars so luckily most things are familiar to me already, but thanks in advance for all the help I am sure I will end up asking for.

No pics with me right now. Its black with tan interior 124K on it. Garage kept bought it from the second owner who had it since 99. I already sensor lowered it. This weekend it gave me the distinct pleasure of swapping the AC compressor what a royal PITA. Hopefully in the next two weeks it should be getting a hub swap with cobra brakes all the way around and a set of 2011 GT 19 inch wheels.

I would rethink the 19's. The price of tires is outageous. 18's not so bad, twenties not so bad, 19's hiss hiss evil.

New take offs 799 for wheels and tires...gonna need spacers, but it is just a temporary solution till I decide what kind of staggered 18s I really want. It needs tires and brakes right now and I couldn't beat the price.

Can't do any type of Bullitt/Torque Thrust wheel.....not my thing. Looking more for something like a CCW Classic or BBS type wheel, even looked at the Ford GT Replica wheels in 18x9 and 18x10 just haven't decided yet. Thanks for the thread though there are some awesome cars on this site.

There is also quite a bit of technical info in that thread. Read it up and use search it too will help.

+1. I have a set of 19's. For cheap tires (Firehawk GT 245/40/19), I pay about 200 each.

So about the same total cost as staggered 18s. To get the right size for this car IMHO 255/45/18 and 285/40/18 you are looking at nittos as pretty much the only company with a matching setup right now, and they run 180 each up front and 208 each out back. I have been paying 800 every couple years for tires since I was 16 (back when cheap 17s were 200 each) lol nothing new there.

welcome to here, btw :D

the size I run is for my LS. Don't know how close the stock sizing is between the 2 models.

Thanks, that is probably the size that should work best for a mark too. These already had 245/45/19s on them and they are about an inch taller than stock, but like I said I am gonna stick them on there till I figure out what I want. Thats the problem with upgrading to cobra brakes, can't just stick any rim on there anymore and I didn't have any 17s to throw on the car. I have been down this road with multiple Thunder-chickens already even milled out a set of billet adapter brackets for the rear brakes on one of my cars, might do another set for the mark if I have time.

Check into hankooks. They are a very reputable tire company. I will be running them in a 20 and they will only be 125 a piece [v4es] But I work at a tire shop also.
