New (to me) 1990 Mark VII, Few questions

Hey Guys,

First I want to say what a great site. I have recently acquired my aunts 1990 LSC and have a few questions. The car is in great shape and only has 56000 miles on it. She never drove the car at all, but she was a very heavy smoker and I am looking for something to clean all the nicotine off of the leather and everything else inside the car.
I recently tuned the car up - plugs, fuel filter, K&N air filter, bumped the timing to 14 degrees. I am hoping the timing bump will not hurt my gas mileage because this is going to be my daily driver, any advice here is appreciated. Today I am going to install new 2 1/4 Mustang 5.0 exhaust from the cats back, its all Walker stuff and looks pretty nice, doesnt look like I will have to make to many mods to make it work.
I converted the a/c over to 134a and just had it evacuated and recharged. It blows ice cold and everything seems to be working ok with the exception that the climate control lights flash while on, Im sure this means there is some kind of code but I am not sure how to pull them or reset them. I use to turn wrenches for a living so I can tackle most things myself. Any advice for this, or ways to extract more power without hurting fuel mileage would be greatly appreciated. This could be a couple of things.

Your 134a charge is probably lower than the operating pressure of R12 and could cause a pressure code in the climate control.

The other possibility is a vacuum leak causing your damper motors to not fully operate. This too will throw a code.

Turn off the climate control (off, not auto) and then restart the vehicle. Select PANEL and see if your system flashes. If it flashes immediately, then look for a vacuum leak. If not, select A/C. If it flashes immediately then you may have a pressure problem. In either case, ask the service mechanic that worked on your system to correct the codes.

Try Megiurs Leather upholstery cleaner on all leather and vinyl parts. Remove the seats so you can get into the crevices and clean the carpets. I'm not sure what to do about the cloth headliners and visors maybe using Resolve and a gentle scrubber.
