Silver with a grey interior, has the 3.9, 109,000 miles, for $3000

Its really clean, was happy to pay the 3k, and she was happy to let it go.

2 Issues to work out right off the bat, driver window dont work and the horn dont work, havent even looked into it yet, but your site has been useful for info, will dig into it this weekend.

Really like the site.

does the cruse control or the steering wheel controls for the radio work fine, clock spring is one of the more common things to go bad and cause horn issues

window regulators are also pretty high on the list

check your spark plug wells for oil (not that this has any thing to do with one of your problems, its just some thing to expect)

Yea thanks for the info, figured it was both of those things yesterday while searching for the solutions online, how i found the site :) .... the clockspring thing seems a pain, but there was a great thread regarding how to do it with pictures.

Will be a busy weekend.

i would test to make sure that is the problem with the horn first, you can check to see if there is voltage at the horns harness (bad horn) or if there is a blown fuse.

i guess the easiest way would be to meter the horn wire on the car side of the clockspring harness, to see if the signal is getting through or not

Actually, I think that the easiest way to test if the horns themselves work is to press the panic button on the remote. That will work even if the clockspring is bad. If it doesn't work, then you know (at least) that the horns or the wiring or the horn relay could be the problem.

LOL, accidently set off my alarm opening trunk with my key... horn works :)

$3k for a 2001 V8?! Where do you live? I've been looking around for a deal like that! The dealership I work at just took in a 2001 LS V8 that just broke 100k miles on trade but they paid way too much (like $6,900). Plus it needs some work so they'll try to sell it for $10k or something.

10K for a 2001 LS? with 100K miles? good luck with that!

Welcome to LVC. After you fix the issues with your new LS. Any plans/mods for it?

I was going to grab a ride to a dealership to look at a 2004 LS, before I went there I looked up on Craigslist to see if there was any others I might go look at, and saw one for 5k only a few miles away, I get there and she tells me about the windows and horn, after a quick test drive, i was going to start talking her down from her 5k, say 4.5k was where i was going to start..... and before I can get a word out, she says " Look, I really need to get rid of this thing, ill sell it for 3k" SOLD.

She was moving to Alaska in 3 days, the movers were there when I picked it up the next day. And she didnt want to ship the vehicle I guess.

Well once I get the bugs worked out, ie. the doors and horn, It needs some tires so I'm currently looking for some 18x9 wheels to put some meat back there.

The intake kits are almost non existant for this, I know the plastic tube that winds its way around the engine bay isnt horribly restrictive, so just replacing the box is probably cool, but I really like the look of that aluminum tube all the way around... guess i need to find me an experienced turbo duct guy lol.

Probably some exhaust, dont need nothing too loud, but im not a big fan of the golf cart quietness when i get on it. Im old school, had a 72 Pontiac that would make children cry and hold their ears when i mashed the pedal... but that was when i was a kid lol.

I do like going to the drags, just went with my friends this friday, we dont get serious about it, just for fun. the cars in our group were, a 2011 5.0, 2004 350z, 200? Focus, Sube WRX, Cobalt, Dodge Ram Hemi with quite a bit of work done to it, and a ridiculous EVO that beat a purpose built rat rod, he ran a 12.02sec @ 136.... on his first run and they wouldnt let him race anymore without a helmet. He is quite a bit more serious about mods...but once again just for fun.

109,000 miles under the hood may keep me from doing that though, unless I buck up and get a spare motor in the garage.

I paid $9700 for my '03 LS V8 sport with 48k on it. Plus they gave me $1500 trade in for my 150k mile SHO with burnt valves in 6 of the 8 cylinders. Other than a front whel bearing making some noise, I haven't discovered anything else wrong with it.
