New to the lux world of power sports but eager for advice

I have never had a V8 i wanted to work on till now. I cant wait to see what can be done to this car. I just bought a 2005 LS V8. Selling price was 14,600 i got if for 10,900. It has every option except the wood grain. Also it only has 45k miles on it and i am the first true owner. It was own by lincoln dealership up till now. So please advise me on where to start with the performance before i spend a bunch of money on a supercharger or itb. Im sure there is the ussual exhaust and intake, but my search so far hasnt revealed a chip or programer, or headers. I was thinking of taking to our local shop and having it worked but i think i want to stick with bolt ons for now. Well im going to go back out and drive some more

ok, after first drive i have noticed a few thing i would like to improve. First i dont know how these guys are doing burnouts but i have the V8 version and its an 03+ so it should have more power but even after turning trac control off and putting it in manual mode i cant do one for :q:q:q:q. ( not a big deal to me but i do still feel like trac control is taking over even though its off and thats a big deal to me) Next i need to increase braking power, decrease the shift time cause its horrible, make it spin both rear wheels. If i can acomplish that i feel i would be making some good progress with the base power. can anyone give me a hand? Ohh and i know i just opened thread, im just excited and kinda new to forums so sorry if its improper to respond to your own thread before someone else has posted
