Whats goin on? Im new to the LS and to the site...just got a 06 LS not too long ago and had some questions for yall...

1. Is there any way, any kit out there that i can use to connect my ipod to my factory stereo?

2. Anybody else ever have the problem where you hear a slight rattle or staticy sound coming from under the dash? It doesn't do it all the time, and I can't quite figure out where its coming from exactly. Usually just when I accelerate, but sometimes even when Im slowing down it happens. At first I thought it was the radio freaking out on me, but it does it with the radio and the AC off too. Any input would be appreciated...Thanks in advance!

1. cassette car kit or one of the wireless transmitters (plug into the headphone jack on your player and take over a weak fm station). i think some people may also have added adapters to plug the player into the radio (but i cant say for sure).

2. i had a few noises coming from the dash when i had my ls. i couldnt point you in the right direction though.

They make wired FM modules as well that attach "in line" on the antenna connection.

It could be anything making noise in the dash.

If you were to choose a wired FM module, when you have the center stack apart installing it, you could drive with it apart and should at least be able to tell if the noise is to the right or left of the disassembled center stack. The dash pad on all vehicles makes it nearly impossible locate noises in the dash without an opening to hear through or getting your head under the dash (which isn't good if driving).

The harder it is to replicate the issue, the harder it is to ID it.

many of us use the PIE Aux input adapter to connect in MP3 player. I have not tried their iPOD stuff in the link.

As for the iPod deal. try icarkits.com I have an '04, and they list an FM unit and also a direct kit. It does not list the direct kit for the '06. I guess they are different?

I have not purchased the kit yet, so have no comments on the quality. Just passing along the site info.

buy the PIE adapter it is a better interface and will charge your ipod also

Thanks for the replies, to follow up about the rattle that sounded like it was coming from the dash, I took it to the local Lincoln dealership and they didn't seem to know what was going on, but they did manage to break my dash lights! They are keeping the car for a few days to try to figure out what the problem was so ill pass on any info i get for anybody that has been having the same problem as soon as i get it!

Yep, ill get some pics of the car as soon as i get a chance...still no luck with the noise that seems to be coming from the dash. Sounds like it really only happens while accelerating over 50mph while im driving. Haven't heard it rattle other than over 50 so still dont know what the prob is. Goin back to the dealership next week

You should check ebay too. I got one there for my 2001 and it works great. It plugs into the back aux/CDchanger port. Depending on the setup. The 06 has alot more radio goin on though, so I'm sure there is a port.
