Nitrous Spark Plugs

not sure what you want to know, but my buddies with mustangs use motorcraft 22 plugs(not sure what the whole # is), and you should just gap them at the normal setting. :L

And make sure the fuel pressure is raised and your timing is lowered.

The timing will be lowered 5 degrees on the first run at 125hp jet. That is going every 50hp losing 2 degrees. Also, I never run lower then 91 octange with a fuel octange booster.

Fuel pressure is like 31/35psi stock I beleive, I have it at 36/40psi. How much higher should I go. If I should?

Stock fuel pressure shouldn't be that low (31/35). It should be closer to 39/40 with the vacuum line off and plugged. I'm not a pro with nitrous or anything, but I would raise it higher than 39/40 if you're gonna run it. You DON'T want the car to run lean when you're juicing it. If I were you, I'd go get it dyno-tuned so that you know what your A/F ratio is.

Good luck.

Maybe I had a bad fuel regulator then? (Stock one, fixed) I would love to get it tuned and dyno'd. There just isn't anything around here to get that done. I would have to make a trip down to Phx. I can't even find time to get down there to find out my 1/4.

I hear ya. I would at least keep the FP - when off the nitrous - at 40psi, with the vacuum line off. When running it, dial in more pressure just to make sure the car doesn't lean out and melt a piston.

Good luck and hope this helped some.

Well, maybe today I can get over to Sifrino and start the plug change. Other then that. I have to fill the bottle and put insurance back on it. Then I am ready to go. But my baby (The Real One) has to come before I go down. This last month or so. Its been getting close. Like right now. Its ready to come. I can't wait!

It has helped alot, thanks!

just talked to my buddy, and he says the best that he found that works with the 5.0 H.O is Autolite 24 plugs, and, if you have stock ignition, go with a .035 gap, if you have ugraded the ignition, go with .025 gap. :L

Run the NGK UR5 plug. I think the stock # is 2772 or 2771. But they can usually look it up by the UR5# anyways.

making the gap smaller with an aftermarket ignition is a bad thing...its not going to blow out with an msd and good wires (stock coil is fine) so you can open it up to 40-45

40psi (no vac) is fine for nitrous

I like split fire plugs and that is what I got. I will check my fuel PSI. 40 is what I will put it on. But one more thing. I won't be using nitrous all that much. Just at the track. So, what will this do to regular driving. Which i will be doing 75% of the time. . .

get to the track, swap plugs, pull the timing back and adjust your fuel pressure....its a 15 minute ordeal

you'd be better off with a standard 99c autolite 24 plug as they don't shroud the a/f mixture from the spark as much...and they're cheap ;)
