Alright guys, I've made my mind up that nitrous is the way to go as far as gains per $ is concerned... now I just have to figure out wet vs. dry kit. I don't like the idea of tricking the mass air meter to add more fuel like with the dry kit but I also don't want to deal with fuel puddling issues. Since the gen 2 intake manifold has less runners than the gen 1, is it less prone to fuel puddling? If I got a window switch will it even be an issue if I spray from 3000-6400rpm?

I ran a wet kit off the line. If you want to run it from 3k up that is fine, but in my opinion a window switch isnt worth it. Just use a wide open throttle switch and flip the arming switch when you hit 3k rpm. That way when you let off the gas it cuts the nitrous also without you having to do anything.

I also wouldnt manual shift your transmission. If you have a chip that raised the shift and rpm limit points then let it be, but the worse thing that could happen when running nitrous is to hit your fuel-cut by missing your shift timing.

I always ran faster times NA by manual shifting, but when running nitrous I left it in D.

I'm gonna run the 75 hp jet on the wet kit, I guess my stock fuel pump will be fine for that? I have a new fuel filter I installed a couple months ago... I still think i'm gonna get the window switch because I want to manually shift the car, leaving it in drive makes me feel like i'm driving a cadillac deville. My goal is to beat my old time of 13.8 at 101+mph in my 4.30 geared 95 LSC... if you don't mind me asking what do you usually run NA and how much does your 80 hp wet shot decrease the time by?

Not much of a "nitrous kit" since the bottle isn't included, the bottle is the most expensive part of any kit... i'm looking at the zex wet complete kits they have on ebay... zex has a trick traction control RPM device as well but it doesn't come with their kits.

This is a complete kit that comes with everything - even a bottle. It's a dry kit. It may say "no bottle" or "no clips", but in the description it says bottle included.

"Nitrous Oxide System, Zex, Dry, 75-125 hp, 10 lb. Bottle, Purple, Ford, Mustang, 4.6/5.0L, Kit "

$364.99

What does this traction control device do? I don't race with traction control on.

It's like a window switch, let's you select the RPM range the nitrous works in, like 3000-6500rpm for example, it also lets you select which gears the nitrous works in. For example, if you have 4.30 gears and nitrous you might have problems getting traction in first gear so you can select the nitrous to start spraying in 2nd gear. Pretty tricked out and you don't need "pills" like with the MSD window switch but it is a lot more expensive though. BTW, i'm pretty sure that kit doesn't come with the bottle, in the pic it says "actual parts may vary."

just my 2 cents

the reason why a lot of guys stay away from wet kits is because wet kits provide equal nitrous to each cylinder. The problem is that a lot of engines don't provide equal air to each cylinder. Its all a matter of getting the right ratio of fuel and air. Nitrous is actually nothing more than compressed oxygen. Sure the nitrogen part is combustable but its really the oxygen in it that you are concerned with and providing enough fuel to burn it. That's why people use a dry kit, the nitrous in injected in the air flow and distributed to the cylinders with respect to the amount of air that cylinder is getting. There are dry kits out there that act like wet kits where they inject fuel with nitrous into the intake. I would get a kit that monitors the fuel pressure of the car and cuts off if it drops. I think I'm just rambling now so I'll stop :p

I have read good things about the dynotune kit but I think i'm still gonna go for the Zex wet kit just to get the brand name nitrous brand if you know what I mean. Plus the install is a bit easier.

Thanks! I need a kit. 100 shot'd be great if it'd be safe. I drive my car on thousand mile trips a few times/year.
