Hey guys,

Ive been lookin into gettin nitrous installed on my lincoln but i want to do it THE SAFEST WAY POSSIBLE!!!.

so my question is what needs to be done to make sure there is enough fuel flow and what would i need to be sure and check and replace???

New fuel filter, pump if it has quite a few miles, and buy a kit ready to install instead of trying to put one together.

Most of the people on this site like the dry kits, but I prefer wet. I ran a 80 wet shot on mine off the line for 2 bottles worth. An 80 shot should be able to get you into the 13s.

No need to upgrade your fuel pump for an 80 shot. Id replace your fuel filter. I ran my fuel line to my solenoid from the fuel rail shrader valve on the passenger side. I just posted a thread about my solenoids, once I get some more pics I will post them. Let me know if you want some more help, we are relatively close to each other.

here is a ? i never see mentioned..
what does a bottle nos go for and how many runs does it supply?

Hey guys tahnks for all the info.

dern, mayb if i end up buyin the kit we could meet up sometime and you could help me out a bit? were only about 3 hours apart and id be willin to make the drive!

IIRC, A 100 shot will run through 1lb of nitrous in 10 seconds.

I'm transferring my nitrous system from my ETC to my Mark VIII (for a while, it will go back on the ETC eventually.) It's a wet kit, but I can always set it up as a dry system. What do you guys think?

I dont have a problem helping out a fellow mark viii owner. You need to decide which direction you want to go- wet or dry. I like the wet because I know the fuel is getting in there. With a dry kit you have to rely on your fuel injectors to get the extra fuel in the engine.

dern: whichever you think is safer, I honestly do not trust anything on this car so i guess the wet shot witha window switch would be best?

btw: i thought that the windows switch was like, it will not engage till you past 3k rpm's? or something like that

the only problem with wet is if you get a backfire you blow the whole intake to pieces. which is why I prefer a dry kit. 255lph pump and a good adjustable regulator are in order as well.

man, now that i think of all this. it makes me want to stay far far awaya from nitrous!

I think with the design of the manifold (which is only designed to flow air) it might be a good plan to go dry. With dry I'm worried about maxing out the injectors and going lean. But with wet, I'm worried about fuel trying to pool in the manifold. I ran a 150 wet shot on my ETC which also has an intake manifold that might be conducive to fuel pooling, but it has a pressure release in case of a backfire since it's a thermoplastic manifold (plus I have a spare manifold.) So I think I will go dry, start off with a 50 shot and keep an eye on the fuel pressure.

You're right, that's what a window switch is, it allows the solenoid circuit to close when the motor is in a certain RPM window.

I just used a wide open throttle switch and sprayed right off the line. I didnt have any problems whatsoever. There was another guy on this board running a wet kit off the line also. His name is K*A*B, I havent seen him around for a while.

Oh, and might I add, blowing my intake off is a great alternative to going lean and melting pistons :)

Except there's still a chance you'll do both or either with a wet kit...

Direct port would be the best way to go for sure, but that's some expensive business.

Never get tired of seeing that Geno !!
Hope all is well with you.
FYI,I have run well over 30 or more bottles in that car with well over 100,000 miles, and she still runs strong !!!
That clip and 12.81 ET was with a full stock leaking exsaust system.
Now with my true duals ,no 3rd cat and free flow mufflers I think I should be closer to 12.5 ET.
Quality parts and a quality install (Geno) keep it going strong.
