Just bought a 2001 LSV8 and now I have no heat. I don't remember the heat not working during the test drive (also don't remember checking it). I had to have my antifreeze reservoir replaced and when I got it back I noticed my heat didn't work. The blower works, only it's blowing cool air when set to high. I also bled the system last night. While bleeding I had heat (well warmer air). This morning I start my car, and turn on the defrost at high and no heat. Any thoughts.

Did you use the Motorcraft degas bottle, or the Dorman one?
Have the thermostat housing and crossover tube been replaced?
Was it filled and bled exactly by the factory procedure?

Really have to search, your question is answered hundreds of times on this forum.

Did you follow the factory air bleed procedure EXACTLY as its written? If so, your system is not leak tight and air is getting back in. Make sure it passes a pressure test. Also pressure test your cap (and make sure the cap is the right one for your degas tank- dorman and motorcraft are not interchangeable).

If its a no heat only at idle issue, its likely your auxiliary coolant pump. If replacing that, you should also go ahead and replace the DCCV (dual climate control valve) since you'll have access to it with the aux pump out of the way.

You'll also quickly find by searching that if not already done, there is a laundry list of plastic cooling parts that should be replaced, preferably all at once to save time and money if you're paying someone else to do the work.

from google, search this.... site:lincolnvscadillac.com yoursearchterms

and welcome!

Sorry I am new to Lincoln. I saw a youtube video about the bleeding so I don't know if it was but factory procedure... I'll double check that. Thank you. I didn't replace the bottle, I had it replaced so I don't know the answer to that. Which one should it be?

Ignore the videos since they're probably wrong, the above tech article has always worked. To hold the specified engine idle, I usually stick 2 coins in the throttle body here

Motorcraft. You're lucky if you get six months out of the Dorman one.
This is the correct fill and bleed (must be followed exactly): http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/tech/drain-lincoln-ls-cooling-system/

This has all been covered hundreds of times. You could have done a simple search and read a few threads and not have to wait for anyone to reply to one of the most asked questions on here.
