At low speeds, like going in and out of my garage, pulling into a parking space, I am hearing what sounds like something loose from the back end....anyone have this experience? It's like a wobbly sound like a spring mount is loose or something...I'm getting my Eibachs installed on Wednesday, so I'm going to have them check things out, but wanted to see if I could steer them in the right direction...thanks in advance!

That's a rather vague description, it could be a lot of things. I would start by checking all suspension components for regular wear and tear.

Yeah, it's pretty vague to me as well...I just can't pinpoint it. I've even put the rear seats down to try to hear it more clearly....but to no avail...thought maybe the exhaust was loose and hitting, or that it was the fuel sloshing around, but I think I've ruled those out...

Yeah, Andrizzle, I'm gonna have the shop who's installing the springs take a look. Of course, since my car is still under warranty, the Eibachs may hinder any warranty work.

Does it sound like its coming from your trunk or the C pillar area? You make want to use some white lithium grease on your hinges and door latches. I had a noise that kind of sounded like something in the back moving or lightly bouncing and it was my rear door latches. Grease them every 6 months or so and the sound went away.
Maybe thats your culprit?

I'll definitely try that Lincoln Luebbe. Yes, that's the type of sound I'm getting...I thought at first something loose in the back of the sunroof area or something in the trunk or rear deck... I used to think it was my kids' boosters as well, but I took them out and the sound persisted. Thanks for that possible solution!

I just had that problem and solved it by replacing the rear sway bar links. I got the Moog links from Rock Auto dot com and they are twice as beefy as the originals, and come with 90 degree grease fittings to keep them working without wear nearly forever. Derry Auto Parts may be able to get these locally.

Thanks MileHighMickey...I'll have the guys check my links today...the Moog's seem pretty inexpensive. Did you do replace them yourself or do you recommend having a shop do it?

They are easy to replace, the longest part of the job is jacking the car and removing the wheel.

As Andrizzle says, it's pretty easy, but it can also be a betch due to rusted studs on links. I ended up unscrewing the bottom one on each side of my car, but getting the nuts half way off on the same stud on both sides of my car. (the upper ones) The nut did screw off enough to be able to cleanly cut the studs with my reciprocating saw. That is on a 145K mile 2000, so yours should be easier. Either way, if you are paying someone to do it, it's not more than 30 minutes of labor for a garage. Sometimes, (never, in my own case though, too much alimony) it's worth it to have someone else do it.

I had a somewhat clicking sound every time I stepped on the gas or hit a bump it was the rear sub frame bolt was loose. Tighten it and dam that was it lol was so happy at the time and relived I found out what it was before it damaged anything

or for an even easier ride...saturn's!!!;)

No, you see I just use my LS to jack up saturns:

Me? I still have them, they have bald street tires on them now. I am probably going to put new snow tires on them for winter 2010-11

Man you drive that car lowered in winter? How is the ride? Now I'm really considering lowering oh I got my exhaust done too! All I can say is WOW! Ppl just hear the roar and just move out the way hahah

Sorry to steal this wonderful thread but :q:q:q:q I'm lazy to start a new one..

It is definitely interesting.

However it is a rare occasion that we get alot of snow more than once a season in OK. I say that, and this past winter we broke our snowfall record and had 3 major snowstorms.

The LS did fairly well, I am sure with snow tires on the stock wheels I will be a ton better off.

Since you live in Toronto, it may be a different story in terms of how many times you get large snowfalls.

Im going to move I swear . Sweet thanks Drizz I'll hold off on the lowering for a bit

I had something similar to what you describe, ended up being some LS-specific suspension part, name escapes me now.

The shop that did the spring install said the suspension was tight as a drum, they couldn't find anything....
