I'm not gonna say it was fun, BUT I got it done and its like a totally different car. rides like a dream, smooth and quiet, handles great, much better than the worn out air ride.100 percent worth 369.00 dollars plus 50.00 for rear shocks.I also found out that for non air ride Mark VIII's you can use 92-97 T-Bird front upper control arms they are 68.00.saves 22.00 dollars over the Mark VIII ones, they work perfect I replaced both of mine as well. Now it rides and drives like new.

I'm happy that you like your new car ( if you know what I mean ), I know it was hot, like in the mid 90s, now you have to brake them in and don't get to crazy now.
It is good to know that I can use the upper control arms from the 92-97 T-Bird but does it has to be a non air ride Mark or not, some day I'll convert mine to but not untill I'm having mager problem with mine, that day may never come.

congrats

:steering Enjoy the ride! Not going to do my 95 until it may need it. But when the time comes I will. My 93 rides great with it's new legs!!! although my wife likes the feel of the air better. I like the better handling and firmer ride.

I am a conversion junkie...and it's fun to read the inital impressions from those who just did it.

It only gets better...guess what? You'll never have to worry about walking outside, and finding your Mark VIII slammed, and undriveable.

congrats... that is great, with the coils in did the cars height lowered or does it look like the same height when you had the baggies on??

I promise you, it doesnt look like this:

The pic above, is what a Mark VIII looks like when the air ride has failed...might look cool, but try driving it that way!

Yeah it was hotter than hell I think I lost 5 pounds in sweat,Thanks to all for good words and advice,I used Rope's fix on the rear shock mounts, except with the monroe shocks you use the 2 ruubbers that come with the shocks with that small round flat one from o'rielly's in the middle, works great. Thanks Rope! also my air ride was still working but it was showing it's age. the pictures of my car were taken when the front bags were empty they never did leak it would just deflate sometimes on it's own when sitting you would hear a click then they would deflate.the 92-97 T-Bird front upper control arms will only work if you don't have air ride they are missing the ball stud that the height sensor mounts to. Well it's time for a ride catch you all later,JC.... :Beer

glad that you enjoy your new ride id probly say if i had a hot rod lincoln or a mark serie i would conver and lower but
with the continental i bought it for the ride control i have 95 continental just bought a new front air shock got it ramaned for 275 and got a place that gona put it on for 140 :)
other than that i love the smooth ride
the back ones look like there almost brand new so i didn,t wan do a conversion anyways plus was afread i would mess up trying to trick the steering control and after spending 600 on a new rack and pinion and labor didn,t wana wast the money plus if it hadn,t been for only needing to spend like less than 500 to get the shock fixed i probly would have changed my mind
have fun
but
my lincoln conintnetal smokes some
i just order a sct chip gona get a chip
only thing i don,t know about is
getting true dual axsuast couse it,s not leagle to convert like that in ohio i don,t think any one help please

Well after resting most of the day sunday with a mild case of heat exhaustion, I admit it. I am NOT used to working in extreme heat, it was 95 when I did the conversion,I'm almost 41 now,not 21 anymore!! LOL!! man I really paid the price sunday. I laid around all day watching the NASCAR roadrace at sears point or Infineon or watever you want to call it,all that roadracing got me jonesin' for a ride in the lincoln and test out the new suspension under it, went for a long drive today and I must say it handles very well, although I have to agree with blackicelsc the front struts [made by gabriel] are a little on the soft side, but I think I can live with it for a while,I took my wife for a ride [in the car,LOL!!] and she could not believe the difference!! all in all I think if StrutMasters would use a Monroe Sensa Trac or Formula GP [like my Mustang has]this kit would be hard to beat.I will take and post new pics after the new springs have had time to settle.later, JC... :Beer
