Well first off, I would like to introduce myself to everyone. Im new here, just bought a 91 Black LSC Special Edition. I have also had an 89 LSC, liked it so much I got this one. I also have a question about the car. I am doing a coil spring conversion on it in a couple of weeks along with some new struts and shocks and all that good stuff, is there anything to look out for in particular? Also as far as the wheels are concerened, what kind of mustang wheels can I go with? I know that on some wheels the caps wont fit on because of the hub, but I put a set of 15" mustang wheels on the front and the caps went on just fine, so what ones can you use without modification? Thanks, look forward to a great time here. Richard.

What kind of conversion are you doing? Why? The coil conversion kits are not a great method for this. To do a proper conversion requires a lot of parts off of another Fox platform, and a lot of knowledge.

Most SN95 Mustang rims will fit with modifcation of the hub or a spacer. True Cobra rims fit without any issues.

Just got the coil conversion from Arnott, Im not talking about parts from another car. Dont think I mentioned anything about this. The reason I am doing this is obvious, airbags suck for reliability, really bad. Who wants airbags that could go bad on you hundreds of miles from home, like I typically am, and don't have time to "play" games with them. The airbag system on these cars are very poorly designed and have issues, bottom line. Now they are fun to have, makes the car unique, and have a lot of potential, but the cons far out weigh the pros for me. I just absolutely love these cars in general, they have a mean look to them, I have had 8 mustangs and these are way cooler in their own way.

INDEED... I have been trying to tell Josh the same for a long time!

The proper way to do a coil conversion is to use donor parts. If i had to do it again i would go this route, but i am quite happy as how the car handles and drives with just standard springs.

Throwing steel springs in place of rubber pouches is not a "bandaid" kit by any means. How is that???

They mount the same way, they ride the same (better IMO), they handle better, they use the stock upper and lower and front control arms, they are more durable, they use the stock ride hieght. ONLY difference is instead of a rubber pouch of air you now have a steel spring in its place. The system isnt being re engineered its being strengthened. 99% of the vehicles on the road use coil springs. For the Mark VII i am driving currently, i have arnott, plus almost every other suspension/handling modification and i am quite pleased as i am slowly turning this into a street/drag car.

The next mark vii i purchase will be a nice daily driver. I will keep the air suspension because the system is beautiful WHEN it works. My system was destroyed, the whole thing so it just made more sense to rip it out. When i buy my next mark I will TRY and leave it stock. :D
