After 3years I lost my job this morning. Some bull:q:q:q:q about reduction in workforce. Yeah ok. On top of that I may be getting a divorce. Anyone want to use my head for target practice? I wonder what else can go wrong. I am so :q:q:q:qed it's not even funny.
 
It's easier to say than to do, but when you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!! I'll have good thoughts for you!

That sucks, sorry to hear. I've been down both of those paths before and it's not fun obviously, I understand it all too well. I ended up in a divorce last year after finding hotel receipts in my wifes purse, had to kick her out and that was that after 10 years to keep it short.

Talking it out and prayer are big helps. At tough as it may seem at times, it does get better, Keep you chin up, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
 
Sorry to hear the bad news Jamie. Jobs come and go but try to keep your head up and do your best at making it work w/ the wifey.
Your a talented man and it shouldn't be to hard finding another job you enjoy doing.

It's their loss not yours. I have never met a more talented person. You can do bodywork, paint, detail, weld, etc. You'll find a job in no time. Hope you work things out with Shari. Divorce is hell. I've been down that road. You have my number. Don't hesitate to call man.
 
well, after telling my wife that i lost my job, she grabbed me, hugged me and cried. she said i am in this with you and i dont want you to leave. she said we will be strong through this and do it together. she said dont worry about us right now lets just get on track and work things out slowly. she then told me she still loves me and that maybe this all happened so we wouldnt split up, maybe it will make us better people. so today i had an interview with a direct competitor with my previous job, and after 3 hours hanging out with the owner, i start monday!!!! less than 24 hours it took to get another welding job. my wife and I are about to snuggle up on the couch and watch tv, and i have a kick ass fire going in the fireplace. :q:q:q:q my old job, they can kiss my ass now i am gonna compete with them at this new shop, and watch them slowly go down. they are already 40 grand in debt as a company and 2 out of 3 of the metal suppliers have froze their accounts for large outstanding balances. hahahahaha karma is a bitch.
 
I really didn't want to put such personal :q:q:q:q out there but this screwed me up bad and I just started typing. I have been going through some pretty bad :q:q:q:q the last few months and this was just too much to be thrown at me. But like I always do, I'll survive it will just be alot easier with her by my side. We have been together 15 years and I'm not throwing in the towel that easily.
 
Sometimes you just gotta let it out to clear your head. It could be to some dudes on a car forum, the clerk at a gas station or to some homeless guy asking for some spare change. But hey, If it let's you relax a little better that's all that really matters.
 
We are always in need of welders at my company. If you are not opposed to being in Pennsylvania (along the Maryland border) and you can get certified to weld, employment will never be an issue.

i liked my job chicken, specially once i went back in the shop to be a fabricator again, and not an installer which is what i was hired to be. but i loved being in the shop welding and building, i just didnt like who i was doing it for. i mean the owner is a retired 20 year executive from enterprise car rental, and he moved to florida and bought an ornamental welding shop, who buys a company they know absolutely nothing about? him apparently, maybe thats why its taking a nose dive into the ground!!! go back to renting cars and taking a long lunch.

Wow what a thread, from bad to good within 24 hrs. Good stuff glad to hear everything is workin out man.
 
haven't been on for a while times turn rough it helps to talk. after i got divorced started therphy found out what depression systems where and got meds strightend out and off meds 6 month later. as has been posted get your welding certs you will stay working and the need is just growing. give the lady a hugg. this group is a bunch of good people ust like a family t will put you in your place but still there for you. jd

You could very well come back from all this stronger. Work a little harder on making that woman happy, she sounds like a keeper. Way cool what she did.
