Let me start from the beginning. I found some Mesh and wanted to put it in the grill.

I took off my 05 grill thinking I could just take off the back plastic and mount the mesh to the front and bam its done. Alittle more complicated than that. I thought about just putting it back on and not doing it but the more I looked at it the more I wanted to do it. So here is an allmost done pic of it. It just has one final coat of black on. Still going to put another 2 coats and a couple clear coats. Prolly another two days till I finally done.

Because of the flash it really shows the plastic behind it more. When I put it on my car earlier it didnt show that bad. When I finish I am going to get some pics. I have some before pics, so I will post them both.

Let me know what you think.

I will try and get some pics of the inside tomarrow after work if I remember before I start working on it.

Looks pretty good from here, I'm anxious to see what it looks like on the car.

So why didnt you trim the original grill to be more even? Why such a jagged uneven look. It definately looks unique but i dont like the way you cut up your oem grill.

i think it looks great. it doesn't seem uneven to me. keep up the good work and post up some pikz of the finished product

Cant wait to see what it looks like on the car. Aserrano that pic of your car looks sick :D

I was going to trim it all the way down, but I didnt know if it would be strong enough with it all trimmed off. It would only leave a little over 1/4" of plastic. I didnt want to put this thing on my car then a week later it fly off or something.

Looks pretty awesome!!
Damn that is an awesome pic. Love it.

Here are the pics of what it looks like of the backside.

That's an impressive custom job. We are working on a universal mesh similar to the CDC version that would fit the LS grilles and McLaren grilles. It is in progress but yours looks good.

nice and clean.. great custom work.. what did u use to hold it in place..

I really should be thanking you. If it wasnt for you guys not having the McLaren grills in stock when I placed my last order I wouldnt have decided to do this.

Everything on the top I just put back to hold it in place. On the bottom however there are a few pieces of plastic that are "glued" I guess to the bottom part. Well all but two of them broke off. I used some epoxy to glue those two back together. I later took some stuff that I found at auto zone called "plastic weld" and put a fine bead around the bottom half of the grill to help hold it together better.

Ohh and I am putting the last few coats of clear coat on. So tomarrow morning I will post up some pics of the finished product on the car. After I wash it that is.
