What the left puts up for elections as their mouthpieces never ceases to amaze me. You lefties must have had your eyes roll back into your head so many times you can't see straight. Looks like the laughingstock Democrat presidential candidates have been eating their Wheaties. Yesterday, it was John Edwards flexing his imaginary muscles at Saudi Arabia. Today, it’s Barack Obama shaking his fist at Pakistan. ABC News reports on the first-term senator’s latest, greatest “bold” idea–invading Pakistan unilaterally. Diplomacy, international law, and the U.N. be damned! Behold, Obama the Cowboy:
In a strikingly bold speech about terrorism scheduled for this morning, Democratic presidential candidate Illinois Sen. Barack Obama will call not only for a withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, but a redeployment of troops into Afghanistan and even Pakistan with or without the permission of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.
“I understand that President Musharraf has his own challenges,” Obama will say, according to speech excerpts provided to ABC News by his campaign, “but let me make this clear. There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again. It was a terrible mistake to fail to act when we had a chance to take out an al Qaeda leadership meeting in 2005. Obama Threatens Invasion
Washington - One week after Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) described rival Senator Barack Obama's (D-Ill) foreign policy skills as naive, Obama said today he would send U.S. troops into Pakistan with "high-powered phasers and photon torpedoes" to kill terrorists suspected of hiding out in that country.
Speaking at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Obama said, "There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans, and as President I would not hesitate to send our forces, including possibly even a Death Star, into that area to wipe them out." When asked about the potential problems of attacking an ally's country, Obama said, "I wouldn't attack the country, only the terrorists."
When asked to comment on her rival's statements, Clinton replied, "Everybody knows a Death Star would destroy that whole country. I stand by my earlier statements, the guy is an ignorant pinhead."
Commentary: Obama is talking tough and no doubt drawing those hawkish conservative liberal voters, if there were such a thing! May the Force be with him.
