OK, I have a 96 LMK8. Lately the O/D light has been flashing. I thought it was a trans warning so i took it to a trans shop. No codes came up but the trans temp sensor. I was told by the shop and several other people that it rarely fails and they are not sure what the problem is.

The car shifts fine, runs good (needs a tune up), trans level is dead on, filter is clean. does ANYONE out there have any ideas why the light flashes? It goes in spurts, first 40 flashes, pause then 2 sets of 14. Then it stops.

Your turbo encabulator is about to wet the bed, you better have it rebuilt fast before it leaves you stranded

i think its the muffler bearings! or the blinker fluid, no wait maybe you dropped your pocket a while ago and they found it on mars!:D

Do not listen to all these guys, they are just messing with you.

I looked up the code in Chiltons that you read off, it says based on your code sequence that the reason is, The shifter has a sensor that registers the position of your Driver seat, if you move the seat too close to the shifter position, it will alert you that you are to close to the O/D button, and there is a slight possibility of accidentally hitting the button and causing severe damage to the O/D system, inadvertently causing serious damage to transmission to be able to shift properly.

How to solve,

A) Move seat back until light stops blinking.

B) Remove seat sensor to O/D or

C) Your on your own, otherwise, I would put a piece of electrical tape over the readout so not to see the blinking.
