Ok so I think I have blowout the catalytic converter. This Lincoln had bad coils when I bought it and I didn't have the money at the time to replace them with OE they way I like so I was pushing it with bad coils and think I dumped a lot of gas into the catalytic converter and burn it out. Now that I'm going to keep it it's #2 on the to do list next to the driver rear door sensor that's out causing the alarm to think the door is open and the lights to come on watch is killing the batter and making the people next door rolled there eyes because of the noise .
So I have a few questions
1# will new cats solve the problem
2# what's the best way to do it replace the system all together, or cut them out and put new ones in
3# for whatever is the best way where should I get the new parts ? Dealer is charging over 2k for the system but I see non OE for cheaper. I'm worried about non OE because I'm not sure about the "direct fit" they say it has.

Like always thanks for the advise

#1 replacing the cats will only fix the problem of the cat/s being bad, it will not correct the problem that destroyed the cat/s in the first place.

#2 OEM is your best option, a lot of people have had problems with the CEL coming back on after using different options for aftermarket cats.

#3 order the part you decide to get from who ever has them the cheapest. OEM aint going to be cheap no matter where you buy them.

Unless the only person on this Earth that has the part is the Dealer you should never buy anything from a Dealer. Rockauto, fleabay, and Amazon are what you need to be using.

I replaced the coils so I'm good to go

I will go OE just have them cut out and not replace the system just the two cats
