I think we need a thread to keep track of Mr. Perfect Oratory Skills as this is the reason the media gives us for his qualifications as President. And oh yeh, he's also Black.

No unnessary chatter needed in this thread. Only top quality material.

Remember when Barack Obama campaigned in Maryland and told voters not to vote for Michael Steele just because he was black.

‘‘It’s great that the Republican Party has finally discovered black people,” Obama said. ‘‘ ... But here’s what I want Maryland to understand. You don’t vote for someone because of what they look like. You vote for what they stand for.”

Okay, in Maryland, black voters shouldn't vote based on race because then they'd vote for a conservative Republican. Can't have that, can you, Senator Obama?

But the whole message changes when Obama campaigns for Harold Ford. Then, race suddenly matters.

The nation’s only black senator, Barack Obama, D-Ill., asked voters at two black churches and at a Nashville rally to elect Ford, a Democrat who is trying to become the first black senator from the South in more than 100 years.

“I know that all of you are going to work the next couple of days to make sure it happens, because I’m feeling lonely in Washington,” Obama said at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. “I need my dear friend to join me.”

I think Gulliani will present quite a strong challenge.
