For women:

1) Pull up to Jiffy Lube when the mileage reaches 3000 miles since last oil change.
2) Drink a cup of coffee.
3) 15 minutes later write a check and leave with a properly maintained vehicle.

Money spent: Oil Change $20.00 Coffee $1.00

Total = $21.00

For Men:

1) Wait until Saturday, drive to auto parts store and buy a case of oil, filter, kitty litter, hand cleaner and a scented tree, write a check for $50.00.
2) Stop by 7 - 11 and buy a case of beer, write a check for $20.00, drive home.
3) Open a beer and drink it.
4) Jack car up. Spend 30 minutes looking for jack stands.

Look for 9/16 box end wrench.
9) Give up and use crescent wrench.
10) Unscrew drain plug.
11) Drop drain plug in pan of hot oil: splash hot oil on you in the process. Cuss.
12) Crawl out from under car to wipe hot oil off of face and arms. Throw kitty litter on spilled oil.
13) Have another beer while watching oil drain.
14) Spend 30 minutes looking for oil filter wrench.
15) Give up; crawl under car and hammer a screwdriver through oil filter and twist off.
16) Crawl out from under car with dripping oil filter splashing oil everywhere from holes.
17) Cleverly hide old oil filter among trash in can to avoid environmental penalties. Drink a beer.
18) Buddy shows up; finish case of beer with him. Decide to finish oil change tomorrow so you can go see his new garage door opener.
18) Sunday: Skip church because "I gotta finish the oil change." Drag pan full of old oil out from underneath car. Cleverly dump oil in hole in back yard instead of taking it back to Pep Boys to recycle.
19) Throw kitty litter on oil spilled during step 18.
20) Beer? No, drank it all yesterday.
21) Walk to 7-11; buy beer.
22) Install new oil filter making sure to apply a thin coat of oil to gasket surface.
23) Dump first quart of fresh oil into engine.
24) Remember drain plug from step 11.
25) Hurry to find drain plug in drain pan.
26) Remember that the used oil is buried in a hole in the back yard, along with drain plug.
27) Drink beer.
28) Shovel out hole and sift oily mud for drain plug. Re-shovel oily dirt into hole. Steal sand from kid’s sandbox to cleverly cover oily patch of ground and avoid environmental penalties. Wash drain plug in lawn mower gas.
29) Discover that first quart of fresh oil is now on the floor. Throw kitty litter on oil spill.
30) Drink beer.
31) Crawl under car getting kitty litter into eyes. Wipe eyes with oily rag used to clean drain plug. Slip with stupid crescent wrench tightening drain plug and bang knuckles on frame.

32) Bang head on floorboard in reaction to step 31.
33) Begin cussing fit
34) Throw stupid crescent wrench.
35) Cuss for additional 10 minutes because wrench hit Miss December (1992) in the left boob.
36) Beer.
37) Clean up hands and forehead and bandage as required to stop blood flow.
38) Beer.
39) Beer.
40) Dump in five fresh quarts of oil.
41) Beer.
42) Lower car from jack stands.
43) Accidentally crush remainder of case of new motor oil.
44) Move car back to apply more kitty litter to fresh oil spilled during steps 23 - 43.
45) Beer.
46) Test drive car.
47) Get pulled over: arrested for driving under the influence.
48) Car gets impounded.
49) Call loving wife, make bail.
50) 12 hours later, get car from impound yard.

Money spent:
Parts $50.00
DUI $2,500.00
Impound fee $75.00
Bail $1,500.00
Beer $40.00

Total = $ 4,165.00

Joey ,
But look at the excitement we have :woowoo2: and the self accomplishment.
It's the thrill of it all.
And then there's Debi You don't have to pay??? You naughty woman :gr_devil: :gr_devil:

NAH......... Women don't even change the oil!!!(I'll make Debi an exception) They just put the key in and drive!!! Sometimes they will top it off if they notice the oil light on, or it starts "making funny noises." I work at a gas station, and I have had women come in 3-5 quarts down!!!!!!! :eek2:

Life is good ;) plus I get to watch too!!!!!!! drewl.......

Thanks for the sterotype exclusion there Black87LSC, I guess I am kinda different when it comes to my ride. I know if I want him to ride me right, I gotta show him love.

Serg, you said you'd keep that between us!

mespock, do you always crawl up under your lincoln to slurp up a blizzard, hummmm you might be on to something.........

Hey Guys, bigdog made me wonder if I should switch to synthetic, what exactely should I be warmin his veins with?

Debi

Depends if dyno oil was all that was in it all this time some would say stick to that. Tha truck i drive at work started off with dyno oil in it but the last two oil changes they put synthetic oil in it, I haven't noticed a difference, the synthetic oil seem to be doing good and i put over 600 miles a week on the truck.

Debi Switch to a synthetic oil right, when you change your oil next. I use valvoline syntec...If you plan on keeping your boy for a long time. I'm sorry I slipped come upstairs and punish me... :tmi:

Wife is bringing me a French Silk Blizzard right now... I don't know if she'd get into the under the car thing. :N :woowoo2:

Deb...I put nothing but red line oil in my truck. I regularly go 20K+ betweem oil changes and there has never been a problem with it. Not really endorsing red line but just saying that synthetic is the bomb diggity... That POS Jimmy has 166,567ish miles on it and still purrs like a kitten...okay, more like a retarded kitten but a kitten none the less.

Debi
how many miles on you boy
and if you stich to synthetic i would yous nothing but mobil one that what iv yoused since iv had him and its been about 40,000 miles and that every 3,000 miles i get her changed not mobile one synthetic EP that i yous can go 15,000 miles between oil changes
but i still do it between 3 and 5
but first i would ask how many miles couse some say when they switch with heavy miles alredy
they see leaks couse synthetic will bring out leaks you wont normaly see couse its thiner
but i took the chance manly couse i had 2,000 dollars at the time and if i saw any leaks i would have payed to stop them
but ask yourself that first
but id defintly say Mobile one that what they yous for nascar
and standard in Mercedes Benz
and standard in the Missin Link my babby girl my continental

thanks guys - I wll try it, the prev owner had oil changed ever 3 religiously! I will look for any dripping, I keep a white cloth under him so it won't be hard to spot and ID if so.

Synthetic is the way to keep your boy running good...

I wouldn't worry about him dripping... Synthetics do a better job of cleaning the engine which also helps of leaks but both of my girls run synthetic and neither one have leaked..

128K on my 95 190K on my 93... both run like they were new... I use Mobile 1 as it is a good oil and easy to come by...

I'd avoid going to Wal-Mart for oil as their oil has been reported as being recycled oil... Not sure on this but it worried me... Don't know how you can sell recycled Mobile 1 oil... don't know where they get it.... But a friend of mine watch a report on one of those learning channel automotive programs. Plus a nother friend who worked at a Wal-Mart told me that when the oil comes in they are ordered to rip off the lables from the cases.. He said the lables say recycled...

thats not true
about wall mart first off wallmart has a house brand wich is recycled that is there realy cheap oil change
if you driving a 300 dollare pice of crap a leased car then yous that couse who car but thats there house brand
there other oils arnt recycled
they just pay there oil change and tire techs ppl by the houre that how come they can aford to charge so little
so dont worry about that
also i would tell you another thing debi
if you start yousing Synthetic and then change mack to regulare you take a changes of running rought and it wont run right some ppl have sed they find that happning for them
but wall mark only have one oil that is recycles
and i buy a case from them every year just to have extra oil and i have never seen and spots for turn off lables befor
