oil change ?????

i RECITLEY MOVED and began working at a new shop. were we do oil changes. you would not belive ho many people come in and say " my oil light came on so can I get an oil change." What do you say to that? so my first reachon ot this AAAA ok let me take a look at it. so I go outside, pop the hood and check the oil. Its bone dry so I tell the costomer no way Ill sell you some oil, but im not tuching the car. Well my boss had a problem with that. He thinks we should do the work, so I give, give not sell him, yes it was a man some oil and tell him to go get it checked out. then I pay for the oil. my boss is still pissed off. I told him exatley how F- ing stupid he is and now onely work 11 houres a week. what do y'll thin my falt or not. this is not a full servis shop. A waterpump will take a so called tec. ALL DAY.

Sorry if I'm picking but spelling and grammar would help here. Aside from that, if it's not your shop, then you have to or should do what the boss tells you.

I understand why you said what you said. Even though you may have a more logical or sensible solution, it's not your decision to make. Many times in business, especially small ones, people do whatever it takes to make the buck.

I think a solution that would have made everyone happy is you could have explained the problem to the guy and asked him to sign a waiver relieving the shop from any damage that may have already been caused.

Don't be offended. If you intend on continuing employment there I would just follow instructions.

He was just trying to help you out, its not important how big the business is, its that fact that you should do what your boss wants you to do, you may find yourself looking for a new job @ Sears automotive !!!!!

well Iv allready started looking for a new job. Yes men go nowere, If you can't tell your boss that he or she is worng, and you do have a better alternitive, then I would not want to work there. my boss has 0 AUTO background, and it seemed as thoe he was just trying to get the sale. he was not thinking of what would/ could happon. the customer was very happy and has sence returned and got 2 sets of tires( on two outher cars seeing as another shop did work on the car and ended up looking up his moter. he has given me and the company $1,650 since so all partys are happy.

well put that does not mean that if it were your tire and lube shop you would tuch the car. big or small for a tire shop that is not somthing you should tuch. And the fact that my boss thinks diff. shows that he is not thinking of the consumers just the # and when I was running the last shop I was At I found that it is posible to do bouth.
