I have an 04 v8 LS that is leaking coolant from the oil cooler, does anyone know where I can get a new one? Or the part number?

you are talking about the part at the very bottom, dead center of the motor where the oil filter screws into right?

Thats the part I'm looking for. I found it and ordered it I just need to figure out how to remove the old one and install the new one now.

I cant post right to the right page but here, youll want to remember this, you can use it for pretty much every repair...

the specific part you want is section "303-01: Engine"

scroll down to "Oil Cooler"

Don't forget a new seal between the cooler and the block. It's a very quick and easy job, other than re-filling and bleeding the coolant.

Actually, between the oil filter adapter and the cooler. (Unless she is removing the adapter too for some reason.)

just out of curiosity, what do you do to get the exact page link? no matter what page i go to, the URL at the top never changes...

When you get to the last link to go to the page you need, right click and select "open link in new tab" or whatever is equivalent for the browser you are using. Then copy the link from the new window's address bar.

Removing the cooler from the adapter - for me - was too difficult. Not sure it can spin off/on when the adapter is mounted on the block.
The adapter on the other hand is just three bolts and everything falls right off. So I just think of the "cooler" as the cooler+adapter.

In that case you would need the cooler to adapter gasket, and the adapter to block gasket.
The manual says it can be removed without removing the adapter, but I haven't tried it either way.

freaking sweet, works like a charm!

and as always thanks for the help

oh and to the OP:

since you do have to drain the oil and coolant, there is a very specific coolant bleeding process that you must follow exactly to the letter or you will have overheating problems afterwards
