Title says all, i took out my spark plugs and coils to see them sitting in a pond of oil... when i look down the coil hole i can see an empty hole to my cylinder where the oil instantly fell into after removing my spark plugs... is this hole suppossed to be plugged because it looks like the oil is just shooting up it ... please help im stumped the only code that it is throwing is p0340 which is cam position sensor... not even misfires. Im confused.. and i am leaking oil from somewhere ... It is NOT the valve cover leaking looks like the oil pan gasket..

If there is oil in the plug/coil area the valve covers are leaking. That's the only way (other than a hole in the valve cover) oil can get in there.

I'm also a little confused...... There should be a "hole" into the cylinder when the plug is removed. Once the plug is removed, oil will spill into the top of the cylinder.

he doesn't realize the hole that he can only see after the spark plugs are removed are the holes from the spark plugs... (chuckles)

unless your car is upside down, how the hell can a leaky oil pan gasket cause oil to end up in the top of the motor.

If you let much oil spill into the cylinder, you may hydro lock it and do serious damage.
Sounds like you need to get someone that knows what they are doing (at least a little bit) to finish this for you.

Oil around plugs in wells should have been soaked up prior to removing spark plug.
Valve cover outers may not be leaking but the inside O ring well seals would be in this case.

Be sure to order the entire VC gasket kit as there are also cover seal washers and spark plug seals needed in order to solve this problem.

Also please do read this article before continuing. Valve Cover Seal Inspection and Replacement

Going to need new fresh coils and plugs, ensure plugs are gapped correctly.

Definitely valve cover gaskets. Your oil pan is on the bottom, bub.

He could have more than one leak source.
However, the best way to do is the fix the topmost leaks first, otherwise you can't really tell if something else lower is leaking too.
