I have been reading this site for a few weeks and I am very impressed with both Lincoln and Caddy. I now have a Mustang with a lot of work but I must sell it and will be looking at getting a nice crusing car. Debating on a Lincoln Mark VIII, LS or a Caddy STS (96+) or CTS (03).
What car (even of not one of these) do you recommend? I am looking for a smoothe, quite, fun to drive car. Gas milage would be a good thing somethin like 22 on highway will be fine.
Any problems to look out in these cars?
STS what is the difference in model years?
Thanks everyone

I have a 98 Mark VIII that I love. It has luxury and performance plus gets up to 28 mpg on the highway.

If you want total performance, and luxury go with the Mark VIII.

The others are great choices but nothing compared to the Mark VIII.

After you get the VIII then get the STS.

Mark VIII has the Cobra engine and handles like a dream. Mods are available to get this car to really scream, with great gas mileage. I get 28 to 31 hwy. Ave about 25 all around.

Also the price is right.

The best bang for the buck is a 2nd Gen Mark VIII. They are almost free now. I mean, for $7000 or $8000 you can get a '98 (last year made) with every toy and HID's with about 60 - 80 K on the clock. These cars are good for 150K with very little work. Best cost/mile/performance/luxury you can buy. Period.

I'm looking for another '98 in even better shape than I have to make it a 'weekend only', 'sunny day' car that I can detail out to the max. Kind of a "one to show" and "one to go" thing.

I'm thinking the same thing. Just waiting a little more time. Need to get the kids out of the house - Drain on the pocket book... LOL.
