Weres my oil drain plug? Is it the 2 inch around circular black plug or is that my transmission drain plug?

that sounds like the torque converter inspection hole plug go about 6" towards the front of the car and you will see a bolt coming out of the side of the pan, if its the stock plug then its a 16mm

Yeah, I figured it was that, the oil change went perfect. Im also glad to say that the oil filter wasent that bad it came off after a half turn with the wrench then the rest by hand. The oil when I drained it was black Im so glad I did this, when i checked dip stick before oil change it looked like honey I was shocked when it drained, lol. I ended up having to tighten the filter by wrench and it wasent really that bad. The result, starts up not a single knock noise like before, it shifts perfect now? Im serious not only does it shift good but It goes into 2nd a little earlier then before, and last it runs smoother and feels more powerful. Thanks guys.

Motor oil Drain plug? It should be at the bottom of the oil pan, right under the engine. Your tranny shouldn't have a drain plug.

the TQ converter has a drain plug.

OOh. Keep a screwdriver to your side next time you want to change your oil.. I always turn mine just snug.

did you dab oil around the rubber seal on the filter before you turned it on to create an even seal and so it doesn't stick when you want to take it off...

In my experience, these filters don't like to come off sometimes when put on snug by hand. The first time I changed oil in both my marks I had to stick a screwdriver through it for leverage. :shifty:

It really sucks too!

I was suprized how ez mine came out as in screwed out, It took me a while to figure out how to get it out it was like tetris, lol. But I managed to cram my arm between the powersteering line and the strut bar when I went to tighten the new filter on, I could only tighten it so much I could still c the seal so the rest went by way of wrenching, also the original seal did not seal itself to the car so I dident have to scrape it out. But I did manage to make a mess, It was comical really, I have everything nice and clean the car is now only driping oil out of the drain plug then I go to the filter ( not thinking) start to screw it out and lmao oil everywhere, starts a mess, I drop the filter becuase it slips out of my hands due to oil and now its upside down pouring oil everywhere, lol. I ended up hosing the driveway and after everything was in place and tightened up I hosed out the bottom of the car, wasent that bad. I think the next thing Ill due will be seafoam thru the pvc valve and new plugs right after that. I hear better throttle response and what not from doing that, so what It cost me under 20 bucks, how can I go wrong.

Its generally a bad idea to put the filter on even as tight as you can get it with your hands. The last filter I put on my car had instructions with it to tighten it until it's rubber gasket made contact, and then 1/2 turn more.

Well I couldent even tighten it by hand to the point were I could still c the seal so thats y I did what I did. Also I have 110k on my car should this effect anything switching over to synthetic, Idt it will besides making it run better.

And castrol syntec is a blend of gtx and synthetics so the, It will start to leak now that its synthtic doesent apply to me becuase its not really a pure synthetic but a mix?

I dont think you have anything to worry about. I started putting mobil 1 in mine when I bought it at 100k miles, I havent had any problems.
