I saw a show about that machine. You dont transport it. Its built on-site and stays there forever and then is disassembled. It might work in a quarry for 30+ years. It only moves around the job site.

Actually Joeychgo, it does move. One was moved across a stretch of land to get from one quarry to the other. It had to take "the back roads" of farms and fields. They had to cut power lines and phone lines so that the machine could be moved. I saw it on Discovery.

M&C: for it to be deconstructed, moved, and then reconstructed would take years.

I think I saw the same show.....but I only caught a small portion of the show, but it sounds like what you are describing......still crazy! :Beer

That's crazy, that is a huge piece of machinery, I can't even imagine that thing moving from place to place :eek2: :monkey:

See?!?!?! If you guys were Nerds then you'd know all of this already! We've known about these mining machines for years and the company that makes them.
