Who uses online file storage and what do they use?

Im looking for a good site preferably free of course to back some things up and clean out my PC.

Thanks guys!

Oh needs lots of storage space!!!

Norton 360 comes with 2gb of storage
Norton 360 Premier Edition comes with 10gb of storage

Beyond this, I really don't use it. I'm a tech who doesn't bother to back up any of my files, A) My stuff usually isn't that important and B) If my OS crashes I can find my data on my own.

Kryptonite is really good, we used to sell it at Staples, lots of people liked it.

Good luck

That as well.

With that being said though, a customer today broke her 160 gb western digital passport, it is being read by my seagate data recovery software as a 2tb drive

It'll cost her 1,500 to send out to Seagate to get the data physically pulled off of.

Online storage servers can crash or be hacked as well. It's just a matter of how and where you want to access your data I guess.

Thanks Rev, I'll have to look into those.

I just wanna clear out my HDD but I dont wanna lose stuff like my music and movies and some other small apps/programs I use for my XBOX. If someone wants to hack that stuff more power to them.

Well, I have no excuses but I can admit that well I just don't feel like buying one:D . Storage space isn't the issue, I just like to wipe down my HDD from time to time and want something for a temp back up instead of making about 30+ DVD's;)

That makes perfect sense Jwerner,

My opinion on backing up data is that most people don't need to do it.

Hard drives rarely break, so an external would be your best choice, plus its not on the web so its probably safer? (assuming you have personal info on it)

Here's a suggestion.

Who is your isp? Cox Communications is mine and you can create a personal "webspace" with a limited (mine is 10gb) storage space, so put it on there and reformat, then transfer.

On my computer that I had recovery cds for I'd do a complete reformat/restore every 6 months, then installed whatever programs/games I needed from there.
