I have what I call a hurricane car (97yr none LSC) and am thinking of maybe useing it for parts so here's the deal.I think I like the looks of the gen1 better than the gen2 so if I was to find a high mileage gen1 and put my engine in it what am I looking at.Is there any advantages to having a OBD1 engine as to haveing an OBD2? I think I said that right.Maybe.I like the looks of no spark plug wires but think it may cost more to be so high tech.I don't know.Just seeking opinions.I just know I'm not going to fix all of the stuff that needs fixin on my 97 and am looking for options.I know about the head lights but I think I'l figure somethin out with that too. What ya think yall. Think out side of the box.I'm open to wild ideas.I'v got $40,000 invested in a super charged Honda Valkyrie so leter rip.Oh.Yeah I'v got a Harley too and... so no jokes please. Thanks for your ideas.

Are you serious?!?!

There is no advantage to putting a Gen 1 engine into a Gen 2. In fact, I would call it a crazy waste of money.

Send me $8000 and I'll set you up with an 11 second Mark, 1st or 2nd gen.

he said he wants to put his gen 2 parts car engine into a gen 1 he wants to buy,

Gen IIs look better, and have nicer interiors. IMHO.

I'd just get another Gen II.

Paul.

Ah ha. Another waste of money.

Just part the car out.

The block, trans etc. bring decent money.

Doing all the wiring between the OBD1 and OBD11 is also a waste of time. Changing out the computer, etc, also a waste of time and effort.

well heck!

I'l just get rid of it and get a Vette. That's what I get for getting a car sight unseen and having it hauled in.I love these cars but I'm tired of projects. The last time I saw my car before I bought it it looked good.Hahaaa!Yeah right.I could kick myself. That was in the dark with verry little light on a parking lot. Haahaaaaaa!STUPID.O'well.Live and learn. Thanks for your opinions.I haven't givin up yet but I don't really want to get into one of these OverHaulin projects. It would be worth it if I was into it but right now I'm not. Thanks yall. :)

buy the way

gangstaMK8 that is a good looking ride bro. There are a lot of really great looking gen1 cars out there and it tempts me to build one. When I say build one that's exactly what I mean.I'm talking about getting out the cutting toarch, and doing stuff that is different.Wild.Crazy.Different.Maybe a real fat rear end with monster tires. If I do this I'm going to bite the billet and go for it.I don't just want to look at and say "that's a nice car".I want to look at it and be speachless!I'm burnt out right now but I need something to plain for.Shoot!I'v got too many projects right now.Hahaaaaa! Hay! I need me a cool car though.Haha.Thanks everybody.:)

If the Gen 1 and Gen 2 were exactlyt he same car, I would take the Gen 2 just to avoid the kabuki dance that is getting good headlights.

With all else that the Gen 2 has, it isn't even a question for me.

I always admired the Gen 1, but the Gen 2 just blew me away when it cme out.

I like the gen 1's too. The front of the gen 2's look like it is a huge fly with those big headlights, but at least the headlights work!!! LOL. What have ya got to lose? I say go ahead and try swaping it and building your car.

thank you im glad you like the ride man, it took me alot of time, and money to get it that way. I still have alot i am going to be doing to this car seeing that im alot into already. I t is all about youre personal choice.

Why on earth would you put a gen II front clip on a gen I, with the headlight problem gen Is have...

I prefer the gen I in every way, except for the seats and headlights. But the stock seats and stock headlights are going to be replaced on mine anyway, so it doesn't matter.
